When we stayed at Poly Concierge 2 weeks ago we were taken back to the Hawaii building in a golf cart. When we checked out they also took us and our luggage out to our car in a golf cart.

I knew WDW would not stop that service for Concierge guests at the Polynesian, so thank you for posting this. :thumbsup2

I forgot to mention that I never realized when you checkout of the Polynesian that they can take you and your bags by cart, so it's something we will rememember when we checkout of there in December. Although it does make sense because if they have the service for taking you to your room, then they should have it when you checkout.

Got a real nice email from Poly concierge about my ADRs we had requested. They got them all except V&As chefs table.:sad1: But they said they would keep trying. This was important to me because it was my treat to DH for our Anni. Nuts. Hope they can get it. If not I think I am going to try to plan something in our room, maybe a catered dinner.
They are also booking the wildlife excursion. Cant wait.
The Poly people are so nice and sweet.
:) :)

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but when we went our luggage was not taken by a golf cart. We lugged it ourselves. I went to the front desk and told them we were checking in concierge and they simply pointed us in that direction. I believe we did request help with the luggage on the way out(and received it). We stayed twice there and have never had our luggage taken to our room. I don't know what you have to ask or who to ask to have it happen. Now with Magical Express it is not a problem. Although we did have someone escort us at the Contemporary with our carry on bags. Just thought I would warn you.

I hate to say it but it depends whos working
they need to be more consistent especially for concierge guests.

Well when we arrive at the Polynesian we will the bellman we are staying in the Hawaii building and that we need them to take us and our bags on the golf cart, because we plan to check-in from there and not in the lobby. Plus we need the bellman to open the door to the Hawaii building because we could not since we would not have our KTTW cards.

If we run into problems like a Cast Member telling us they can't do that or say go in that direction, we will complain and say this is something that should be done for us since we are paying a lot for Concierge. Plus we will say how are we suppost to get into the Hawaii building since you need a KTTW card.

Since we've never been Club Level before, here's my question: do we check in at the lobby desk or at the club level (concierge) desk when we arrive?

You can check-in right on the club floor, so all you do is the tell someone at the bell stand to call them saying you have arrived and a bellman will take you and your luggage up there.

You can also check-in at the lobby however I would say it's alot faster to do it on the Club Floor incase there are a lot of other people trying to check-in at the same time.

I am guessing you told the bellman at the main entrance you were staying on the Atrium Club or Tower Club and they took you up to either floor with your carry on bags and you checked in up there? If so my family and I do the same thing when checking into the Atrium Club, however we have them take all our bags up.

The only other thing you could have done is checked-in at the front desk in the lobby and had a Cast Member come up with you to the 12th floor or 14th floor, because last December while in the elevator I saw this a few times. Although since you said you had help with your carry on bag I would assume it was a bellman who helped you, because these people I saw in the elevators had their bags themselves without any help.

For concierge check in at the Polynesian:

1) Go to the Valet stand outside. They call to see if you have a ready room.
1a) If the room is ready, they direct you to the bell stand.
1b) If the room is not ready, they store your luggage and direct you to the bell stand.

2) The bellman takes you to Hawaii/Tonga to check in. If your room is ready they normally bring you and your luggage to the room first and you check in after.

we are hearing there is a new check on at teh GF
they have a new stand you go to and they take you right to your room give you all your stuff there
They will also take a charge from you their if your room isnt ready you get your room keys with your tickets to the world on them and they store your luggage and give you access to the lounge

Yes, that is exactly what I did. I think there was a sign saying club level (can't remember exactly what) and I went to the Bell desk at the Contemporary. It was clearly marked. I tell you, it was the best concierge check in I have ever had. I just wasn't so lucky at the others I stayed at. But, then again, I wasn't sure of where to go. It sure helps reading these boards. I guess the Bellmen in front of the resorts are the who you go to, at least that seems to be what I am reading.

I agree about the info you get on these boards. If it wasn't for the DIS, I would never have known about our rooms being Club Level!! I'll have to remember to look for the bellman when we check in , in Dec.

I would just like to say that I am staying AKL Concierge and Don has been AMAZING. Previously, reservations had told me that no disabled rooms were available on the club level. While I emailed them about the issue and Don says they have quite a few disabled rooms with savannah views. He just made me feel completely at ease and made me feel as though everything was being taken care of. I got the just that they may have to downgrade me to Savannah view but I am sure they'll still let me do the sunrise safari.

I have heard great things about Don! I find the IPO staffs and onsite staffs know more than the CRO agents. I have been dealing with Calvin at the GF and he has been amazing.

When they re-named the 12th floor the Atrium Club we got a letter about that and in it said when you arrive to tell the bellman you were staying on that floor and they would do the rest. In the past we had no idea you can do that, because when we arrived we would always park the car and take our luggage ourselves and checked in from the lobby. So now when we arrive at the Contemporary we tell the bellman who greets us that we are staying on the Atrium Club and then they tell the person at the bell desk or we tell them ourselves.

Thank you for that information and that's how I thought it's done at the Polynesian.

If our room is ready when we arrive can we ask them to bring our luggage with us when we go to the Hawaii building? That's what we always do when checking into the Atrium Club, so we would like to keep doing it like that if we can.
