This thread is great!! We are planning our next trip to WDW for this summer before our cruise and are seriously considering CL for this trip. Thanks for all your info!!:cloud9:

My family just switched from a Bay Lake View room in the Contemporary Tower, to a Garden Concierge room at the Polynesian for December 2007. Can anyone tell me how the Cast Members are who work there, what foods in the evening should we expect & overall how is the Polynesian Concierge lounge?

Check out this link, and you will find all your info: http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/conciergeservice.html

We were there December 1-10 2006. We absolutely LOVE the concierge services, lounge CM's etc. By far the best trip we have ever taken!

I had a question I didn't seem to find an answer for in the thread, so I'll ask. I apologize if it has already been answered elsewhere and I was just unable to find it. :)

Are Concierge Guests allowed to bring non-concierge guests to the lounge? We are staying at the Contemporary Tower (Atrium Club) this December, but we travel with our best friends who are DVC members and stay at one of the DVC Resorts. We were just wondering if it is permitted for all of us to go to the lounge to watch the MK fireworks one night, or if non-concierge guests aren't welcome. Don't want to get in trouble and have our dear friends turned away at the door.

This is a debatable subject...some feel it's not right, or an abuse to the system. I will tell you that I spent 10 days at the Poly Concierge dec. '06. One night a couple came and visited us...I asked the CM's if it was OK to bring them up to the lounge....the CM's were very gracious and said no problem....we chatted upstairs and had a drink. Granted, it was not crowded at the time of day we were there...and this was the beginning of Dec...so it was not overly crowded in general.

We stayed at the YC concierge in July and my in laws stayed in a standard room, the concierge staff was very accomodating even helped them get their room situation straightened out when the room they were assigned was still occupied. I had asked prior to their arrival if they could come up to our room and their response was as long as they are your quest all they asked was that we be with them when they came up.

related question- at AKL could not concierge guests go on the sunrise safari with concierge guests?
thanks!

Wow what a great thread!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We are going to stay LVC at the POLY on Nov. 26/Dec. 4. This is our first time doing concierge and im excited. These questions on this thread are very helpful to a first timer.
:woohoo: :cloud9:

So happy to find this thread! We are Poly vets but this will be our first stay CL. I've learned a lot through this thread and we are very excited. I just sent Poly IPO an email this morning introducing myself and checking to make sure we were in their system (my TA was supposed to send over our info to them).

Does the Poly send anything via snail mail or is it all via email?

Mahalo!

Thanks for all the useful information. I luv this board for all the useful tips and information. We decided to add on to our DVC vacation next month (March) and come in two (2) days early on March 16-18 and stay at AKL Conceirge. My granddaughter absolutely loves animals and I think she'll love the resort and the Sunrise Safari. Just hope we don't feel too disappointed moving to Old Key West 2 bedroom villa for the rest of our stay, then again it's a great resort too and we'll be at Disney, so how could we be dissapointed!!

Thanks again for all the useful information.

I receive all my information from the Poly via email....the email has my itinerary for our trip sent as an attachment, everytime I change my ADR's I get an updated itinerary attachment. The itinerary will have the date, party size, place and booking number. Hope this helps.

Speaking of Safari's, has anyone done the one that is open to only concierge guests? It is pretty exspensive, is it worth the money? Would it be appropriate for a five year old? Thanks!

The Sunrise Safari open to AKL CL guests or the other one open to any CL guest? I can only speak for the former - yes, yes, yes!!! We do it every time we stay at AKL and just love it. You never know what is going to happen on your early morning safari (a slow trek through the ride area) - one time the lions were mating:rotfl: another time a rhino came so close to our vehicle, we could almost touch him. And, the food they serve afterwards is just great and plentiful. Plus they hand you a fast pass to do the real ride afterwards.

I'm looking at doing this as well and found some info at the following places:

http://www.allearsnet.com:80/tp/ak/wildexcursion.htm

Looks pretty neat to me, but I too would like to know if non-concierge guests can accompany concierge guests for the Excursion.

One more question about the Safari. Do you know what days/times it runs? Thanks again!!

One more question about the Safari. Do you know what days/times it runs? Thanks again!!

When we were planning our trip for the first weekend in March, we were told it was offered on Thursday and Sunday only. We already signed and are ready to go for the 4th . It's fairly early in the morning, usually 6 or 7 AM I believe.

I've been studying this thread for hours, and getting a little confused!!

I really want to book 5 nights AKL CL in November, but am anxious to get Savannah view if I'm going to stay there. I see that this isn't guaranteed, and we may get pool view which I think would be v disappointing. Also on the first post, it states that the concierge is made up of 55 deluxe rooms, but the only option I'm being offered on the website is standard room - Kilimanjaro Club. My question is, are these standard rooms somewhat less than normal deluxe concierge? I don't mind about room size, but don't want to miss out on Savannah view....but really fancy the Sunrise Safari! :confused3 Can anyone help?? Thanks v much!
