Useful Concierge Information

Is it OK just to email concierge with the emails listed at the beginning of this thread or should I call instead???

I know as far as the POLY is concerned they have told me that they actually prefer emails. Usually if you call you end up getting their voice-mail anyway and then they have to call back. I've done almost all of our communication via email and it's worked great!

I agree eamail is better than calling. I'm going to fax my itineraries in though. One for our January trip came via USPS but in a different format than it used to be. Used to be a small pamphlet kind of thing that was easy to send back. This is 5 or so thick sheets.

Our itinerary for Oct. came via email but I couldn't fill it out online? Don't know if I'm missing something being the computer dunce I am. :badpc: But anyway, I'm faxing it back as well.

But I would think answering emails or picking up faxes is more convenient and time efficient than taking phone calls. Not that the IPO would ever say that though. :)

I've used email exclusively for our upcoming GF trip, except for calling them to give IPO my CC for CRT deposit. They've been great. I always request a "read receipt" for my emails to them to make sure they've been read (and then save them for future reference). They got all my ADR's and a Wishes fireworks cruise on the exact days and times requested. I will email them a week or so before our trip to remind them of a few special requests.

Have fun planning!

There is a concierge desk on the first floor of Sugar Loaf right in the lounge area.

Thank you! That's good to know.

To answer zurgswife, like everyone else, I've had fantastic response via email. Very often they answer it within an hour! :teeth: ( :rotfl: at your username, by the way!)

Just back and planning our next trip!

We've stayed at the poly, cr and gf. All the monorail resorts.

I'd like to try a new resort and I don't know where to start except that I'd like to stay concierge.

Does anyone know or have a list of the hotels onsite that offer concierge?

Also what are your favorites? Any bad experience?

All of the deluxe resorts have a concierge level floor. Where you have satyed at all the monorail resorts why not try an Epcot resort. I have stayed at all three there. The BC and Yc were very nice, but my favorite is the BWI. The cast there is amazing, the lounge is roomy and very comfortable and the views are great. The IPO is shared by the 3 resorts and the office is at the YC. The cast there are fantastic.

Can't remember where I saw the question but I'll post it here and BWI. If you're in concierge-tell the valet or bellboy that you're in concierge and he'll take you straight up to the concierge desk on the 4th floor-no need to go to the check in desk. We were there last week and it was soooooo cool-hope to go back real soon :cool1:

Ok...I feel very concerige official...  I got an official response to my hello email.....I put my view request that was about it. And I do realize it is just a request... :rotfl:

Thanks for that info. I am staying at BWI in December and the initial info that I received from them said to go to the regular check-in. Glad to hear that's not the case.

Thank you KerryCM....An Epcot resort sounds nice! Is the great view from the BWI lounge of the epcot ball? I'm not familair with these hotels. I'm feeling lame here but BC is beach club and YC is yaht club - is BWI the Boardwalk?

We are up in pennsylvania and every summer we vacation at the beach with a boardwalk so I know we wouldn't want that since we get it up here all the time.

Do any of the moderates have a concierge level?

No, the moderates do not offer concierge service. :guilty:

I'm in the middle of planning my trip ADR's, etc.. and Jeffrey has been really great. I have really enjoyed e-mailing with him. He's been a great source of info.

I. Can't. Wait!!! :thewave:

The view from the lounge is the back side of France. You can see the high fireworks from Illuminations. Yes, BWI is the Boardwalk Inn. I just love it there. I feel like I am going home when I go.

BWI gets very good reviews. I've never stayed at YC or BC concierge but have heard that their lounges close between offerings while BWI's stays open. It's nice to be able to grab a soda at any time of day (they are all closed late night 11pm to 6am ish).

You may want to consider AKL which gets really great reviews also. WL also has concierge and a newly expanded lounge.

I had IPO email my itinerary to me and they had almost everything I asked for booked ! :earboy2: I was confused about one thing. They had all my adrs listed under Arrangements Booked but I had also requested the Illuminations cruise on Breathless and it was listed under Arrangements Requested. It has a time listed next to it and where to go, etc. as if it was confirmed but no booking number. Did I get the cruise or not? Anyone have any idea?

I need to know if I am crazy to even consider doing this. Currently I have 2 LVC rooms booked at the Poly for 8 nights in May of 2006. I have recently decided I am going to move (3000 miles) in 2007 so I need to try to save money and therefore need to cut my vacation budget. I really want to stay Concierge because I want to take full advantage of the IPO. I also really want a lagoon view. I am thinking of changing my reservations to 1 LCV room for 4 nights and then 2 GVC for 4 nights. It would cut the cost by over 40%. Will they think I am crazy for basicly moving across the hall? Also how much hassle is it to switch rooms in the same resort? I am also planning on getting the dining plan so I think I will have to get 1 day tickets with the 2nd reservation in order to do it. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :flower:

I don't think it would be a big deal at all to switch from LVC to GVC within the same resort. It would just be a matter of moving your "stuff" from one spot to the next.

I realize you want a LV, but GV would dramatically reduce your costs as well. If you are intent on spending a portion of your visit in LV, however, might I suggest that you make that portion of your stay at the end of the trip? It will add to your excitement AND you may decide you'd rather stay put in GV.

On the other hand, you never know--if you do the LV at the front end, you may simply be "upgraded" for the balance of your stay and not be required to move. The latter depends upon how busy the resort will be at the time of your visit. . .but, it's a thought! ;)

You do not have the cruise yet but all hope is not lost. I had the same thing happen to me although I did not request the breathless. I just got an updated copy of my itinerary and the cruise is now booked for me. They will continue to try to get it for you.

For our 20th anniversary trip next August, my DP and I are staying 8 nights at AKL concierge, neither of which we ever done before and it was getting hard to wait that long!!! When, out of nowhere, my DP said we just had to add one night in front of our Dec 2005 family vacation because she was having an awful time finding flights out on a Saturday. So I called my TA and we are now flying in Friday and spending 1 night at AKL, concierge. It's going to be just enough to wet our appetities for Aug 2006 and it will be a super kickoff to our Dec trip.

I pretty much have everything already planned for Dec so I won't need much help from the IPO department and we won't have time to eat at Jikos, or do the Savannah tours, but we'll tour the lodge, take a dip in the pools, check out the concierge lounge, and generally just have a good time before we head over to BCV for 8 additional nights!
