Wow VAGAL, What a perfect trip IMHO. AKL and 14th floor. I see in your signiture you are planning a July trip. That sounds wonderful! Someday I will try the 14th floor. As you know AKL is our favorite. It just transports us to places far away. Place we will probably only visit through Disney.

I will be looking forward to your trip report when you return!

 Yippie! All booked at BWI Concierge deluxe room for Dec 4 - Dec 14. Can't wait. Any suggestions/requests I should make?

Paladin - You are going to the love the BWI!!!! All of the deluxe rooms face the Boardwalk/Crescent Lake so I don't think you can go wrong in any of them. Do request to be on the 4th floor so you'll be closer to the lounge. I was right above Flying Fish and enjoyed the view. Performers were right at the boat loading dock which I had a great view from my balcony of one evening. Keep your eye out for some great CMs in the lounge like Scott, Lauren, Lorenzo, Steve. Steve checked us in during our visit and he gave a great first impression. I told them I wish to be upgraded to the Presidential suite next time I was there. LOL! ;)

Thanks for the reply. I am really looking forward to this. We have been to WDW many times, but this is the first time in concierge or the BWI, for that matter. We have stayed at the Beach Club and BWV and love the area; in fact, my husband will only go to WDW if we stay at one of the EPCOT resorts. (I am the Disney fanatic in the family).

OK GoofyJoofy - You're post & some others have convinced me to give the ol' BC a whirl. I got a suite for us, too. I'm doing just 2 days so I've kept these two days as my "veg out" days. I'm still able to do CR 14th floor without intruding on my b-day plans for my MIL this way, too. :goodvibes

Oh man CR 14 floor AND BC Suite  Sounds like a perfect combination.
Are you also doing an AKL stay? If so, WOW what a dream vacation....

I'll just live vicariously. Never did a suite - you'll have to tell me how you like it.

And those BC IPO staff are wonderful to work with. Make sure you contact them early.

Oh, yes! We're doing AKL also. 9 nights - 3 resorts!

AKL - 4 nights then off to CR 14th floor for 3 nights then ending our vacation at BC with a suite for the last 2 nights.

I'm so excited I just might burst. I never imagined I'd be in a position to do all these suites. Just last year I was really living large with my regular concierge room and loving it. Although, having 5 people with 3 of them adults has nudged us to get a suite for the extra room. Then all of a sudden I'm putting a deposit on the Presidential suite at AKL & BC for a few nights while I'm there! :cloud9:  :cool1:  :dancer: :faint:

Somebody pinch me!

I sent an email to the concierge office about the renovation there (in Hawaii) and if it would affect my trip (December 11-17), here is the response:

"At this time, no final details have been confirmed. However I do believe the rehab is set for earlier in the fall and should not effect any December travel plans. Please note however than no final arrangements have been made and can be subject to change at anytime.

VAgal76: I just PM'd you.

I just received this and wanted to share for all of you planning a trip staying at the Polynesian concierge longhouses. I e-mailed the Polynesian regarding their remodeling. We were going to stay there September 24-30. This is the reply I received.

Aloha!

At this time our concierge building is scheduled for refurbishment during your stay, however that is subject to change on a daily basis. As the refurbishment is still several months away, we are still exploring what options are open to us in order to best serve our guests.
At this time we do not have specific plans in place as we are unsure of exactly what will need to be done, however, rest assured that any plans e have will have minimal effect on you our guest.
I wish that I could give you more information, however at this time it is just not available as things are changing on a daily basis.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions and we will be more than happy to update you as we know more information.

I felt this was a wonderful informative note. The CM's at the Polynesian certainly are not leaving their guests out in the cold. We have cancelled our ressies there and are staying at GF. Partly because of the refurbishment, but we also were able to get an AP rate that was too good to let go for RPC. :goodvibes

Okay, I just had to post a link here. For anyone who's experienced concierge or is considering it, this article does an excellent job in it's description. For anyone interested in reading it, here you go, Concierge Service .

VA girl you have to post after your trip because I'll be staying 9/25-9/30 on the 14th floor and then 9/30-10/6 at AKL concierge. I don't think we'll be adding another resort at this point but I'll be curious to see you trip reports.

tammi - THanks for the link - now I want to try the rest of the CLs on property!

Thought I would add this information over here for anyone planning on visiting the Wilderness Lodge Concierge soon .

I'll get to the information related to the news from the Lodge, I did meet-up with Mark Newman the manager of concierge on my visit to the Lodge.

#1 The New Concierge Lounge is well under way but not complete...New ECD is July...No Photos because the contractor had left for the day and had locked the area...Marco one of the great CM actually picked the lock on the construction area so we could peek in but the electrical box was also locked so Mark was unable to turn any lights on. We took our tour with a few flashlights.

The new lounge “The Old Faithful Club Room” (concierge as we have known in the pass is being changed to the industries new “Club Level”) Concierge services for the resort per say will be handled by Guest Services.

The new Club Lounge will have two entries one to the left of the main elevators, the other entry is located off the main lobby area. A new reception podium will be installed along with new hardwood flooring as you exit the elevators. This will give the guest more of a formal reception area. The new lounge is being construction in an area previously unused. (Dead Zone) NO rooms or suites have been removed or changed (The Honeymoon Suite located closest to the elevators on the Southside of the Lodge has been taken out of service as well as two rooms under the new lounge area on the sixth floor due to the noise concerns)

As you walk into the new lounge there will be a wall of cabinets on the west wall with built in coffee machines and beautiful granite countertops that will extend up the wall as a backsplash, the flooring will be a natural stone and cut timbers are being installed on the ceilings as I type…thus the delay with the opening of the lounge…the timbers can’t be cut on the 7th floor, they had a make-shift work area located out in the CM’s parking lot, then the rain started and it was been raining here in Florida for the last few weeks. Mark said they where trying to come up with a covered area so the work can continue without interruption, hopefully it has now been accomplished and the timber cutting and fitting is being completed.

On the south side of the lobby balcony there will be a new area for children, a mini lounge area with miniature furniture and a plasma flat screen TV. (Disney Channel) On the north side of the lobby will be the new adult area with an adult setting area with an additional larger Plasma Flat Screen TV. (news or weather channel) New tables and chairs will be placed around the balcony so guest will still have the beautiful view to over look the main lobby.. Every morning a few guest will now have the best view on property as Mark as ordered new tables to be placed where the buffet sideboard is now.

Mark is hoping for a completion of the renovations by July, but due to unforeseen delays he can’t give an exact date. It will be worth the wait. Think of natural elements used where ever possible timbers, granite, stone and hardwood flooring.

Now for other news… Starting in January 2006 the Lodge will start undergoing a complete renovation of all soft ware items. Mark said they would start on the 7th floor with new bedding, carpeting, and wallpaper. The Club Level rooms will have upgraded items similar to the style of the Lodge now but a little nicer then the other Lodge rooms.

Mark wasn’t sure if the new items will be a totally new design, as they want to keep the look and feel of the Lodge. We will have to wait and see.

Also by August, the Wilderness Lodge will be completely upgraded to high speed internet access. All Disney Resorts should receive this upgrade by the end of the year.

thank you for the great update Magicinmyheart!

I appreciate the update on WL! I didn't have such a memorable experience when we stayed last year. One of my concerns was that the rooms looked "aged." Not terribly, but it needed some sprucing up. I'm very happy to hear they are going to do upgrades to the rooms. :goodvibes It's exactly what needed to be done. I hear the service issues are being resolved as well. I loved the overall theming of this resort and the location, but was disheartened by the lack of attention to guests and the condition of our room (while not disgusting, just not stellar). I guess everyone deserves a second chance so I'm going to give it another try.

Anyone have any updates on the CR renovations?

Received an unexpected gift in the mail yesterday from YC IPO planner(remember I'm a return guest many times over) and was quite surprised. Said she was spreading a little pixie dust and looked forward to seeing me in 2006! Little did she know that very day I had booked a trip for this July too! These are the kind of things that keep me coming back to YC CL. I've never dealt with kinder, more thoughtful people in my life. :cheer2:

We received a wonderful gift from them this past December also. They had wrapped it up and left it under the Christmas tree in our room. It was our first stay at the YC and our first dealings with Alana, Amy & Angie. I'm hoping that we have the pleasure of working with them again in the future. I agree YCFAN, they are very kind and thoughtful.

Tammi

I am looking for info on the BWI concierge.....

Have read mixed reports about separate check-in-some got it, some didn't.

we are arriving Thanksgiving day -morning-9ish.

Does anyone have a copy of the lounge offerings. Do they have tea in the afternoons????

We are hoping to get a BW view- I did request it with the initial ressie. . What are our chances?

We are also celebrating Ds's birthday. Can they note this on our PS's for us???
