Used to a timeshare room, will Poly/WL measure up?

We have a timeshare and we are used to 2 bdrms, living room, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen when we go on vacation. Of course, the timeshare isn't on Disney grounds.

When I told my daughter that we'd be staying in one room, she couldn't believe it. We're doing the land/sea package and are staying one night at the WL (hoping for bunk beds for kids) and 4 nights at the Poly before going on our cruise.

What do you think? Is it going to be difficult to adjust to one room with 4 people?

Well with all that space, you may be a little closer than what you are used to. :grouphug: The Polynesian's rooms are bigger than the Wilderness Lodge's rooms, so I suppose it's good that most of your nights will be spent there. I personally think staying onsite can't be beat, and the Polynesian has the best transportation options. That may help offset less room for the four of you. We also have a family of four, and it's always been plenty of room for us. Hope your time at WDW and on the Disney Cruise is magical! princess:

We stayed in a huge time share off site once, it had two bathrooms, living room with fire place, jacuzzi, etc, etc, but we were in misery the whole time. :( Having to drive to the parks in the morning, parking, taking the shuttle, messing with the TTC, it was awful. We vowed never to do that again, you just can't beat the Disney transportation and the closeness! :)

I don't think you can compare Poly/WL to a timeshare resort. The sq foot will not measure up to the timeshare you are used to. How about just doing the Disney cruise and then stay at your timeshare or I would suggest what spiceycat suggested-switch to the 2-bedroom villa at VWL.

How many rooms will you have on the ship? I personally would not like a timeshare. I live in a condo in FL, so it would be just like home for me-with the mess and picking up after people-no thank you! I 'd choose the All starts over an offsite condo. I think after staying onsite, you will find it hard to go back off.

Thank you so much for your replies. We're doing the land portion before the cruise. To upgrade the room at the Poly is so expensive! There are actually six of us going and we have two rooms.

It will be nice not having so much to clean up. I'm excited!!! I cannot imagine just hopping on the monorail.

BTW, we're only staying at the WL on the night we get there. I'm hoping for the bunk beds for the kids. They would love them!!

Thanks again for sharing your experiences!
