My friend is looking for used cars. To help him out, I want to look at listings, but really don't want to wade through 40+ companies.

In general, what are some less expensive companies/models for used cars (from the 90's, or at least, <$2000 to buy)?

I'm really no expert on cars. What's a good mileage for a cheap used car? <100,000 is good, right? Or should it be less? Can't expect much for $2k
