OK...Most likely the majority of our vacations will be in June due to my job :teacher: We may go during the holidays, but it would be a short visit if we did. How is the month set AND if JUNE is our vacation preference what month do we want?:confused3

I would say you would want a JUNE use year then..

The UY is set when you purchase your contract... You can still vacation anytime... The biggest advantage of having a UY close to when you vacation is that you have a larger window to bank points at 100% if for some reason you need to cancel a trip.

Thanks for asking this question. I have been tying to figure this out also. My wife is a teacher and I am an assistant principal. We could also go mostly during the summer and maybe a holiday trip.:)

Remember, Use Year Month comes into play ONLY when you have to cancel a reservation. If you don't cancel reservations, then use year month has absolutely no impact.

I totally agree with this. We have been members for 10 years, and while we have certainily cancelled reservations and rebooked at different times (just did that yesterday, in fact), we have never had a situation that came up that had us cancelling so close to a trip as to make it impossible to bank. We probably have the "worst" use year month from the standards of some, since we like to travel most in December and January, and our use year is March. If we ever cancel one of those trips later than December, we could lose points, but our theory is that it isn't going to happen often. If it hasn't happened in 10 years, any time it might possibly happen now, we would chalk it up to "oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles".
