How do you go about chosing your use year?

We travel at various times of the year. Disney is usually mid to end of September, October, November, December, January, February, end of April, or May. Due to the heat, we NEVER go to Disney June, July, or August and because of Spring Break crowds we do our best to avoid March and most of April.

I was wondering this same thing. We are considering a BCV resale with an April use year - right now we are usually in WDW in October for F&W. Will an April use year be a problem for us? How long do you get to bank 100% of your points?

Use Year is simply the month your points are renewed each year and has nothing to do with making reservations. Reservations may be made 11 months ahead at your Home Resort (7 months ahead at other DVC Resorts) as long as you will have points available for the dates you wish to reserve.

The only time that Use Year might be a factor is in the event that you must cancel a reservation. If your Use Year is June and you have a reservation for May - the points used for that cancelled reservation would have to be used by the end May (or banked by the end of November). For the months mentioned, a September Use Year would serve you well since you would have time to reuse or bank points in the case of a cancellation.

Those with an April Use Year would be able to bank 100% of their points thru September 30 each year.
