Looking to buy a resale at Boardwalk. We will likely be making summer reservations on a yearly basis sometime between June and August. Is there any benefit to a particular use year?

How does banking work? Isn't there a prorated system set up? Like as soon as your points come available, you can bank all; and at 6 months a certain percentage and so on?

Also, what happens at the 30 day/31 day ressie window? If points are not used; they go in a holding bank that must be used in a certain amount of time? please explain this!

I would think that under this scenario, a May or June use year would be best for summer reservations.

What is your experience? ONce again, thanks for all your wonderful advice/input.

Your best use year will be June, second April. However you may want to put the overall value of the contract ahead of the use year in this situation unless you have a lot of variables that are likely to force you into short notice changes.

I'd agreee with Dean about April or June (there is no May Use Year) being the better Use Years for your trips between June and August and also about not placing too much weight on Use Year if other aspects of the resale are favorable. Unless you are likely to need to make reservation changes on short notice, Use Year won't have much of an effect.

All of your points may be banked within 6 months of the start of the UY, 50% may be banked up thru 9 months and 25% thru 10 months. No banking is allowed during the past 2 months of the UY.

Cancellations made within 30 days of arrival will cause those points to be placed oin a Holding Account where they may be used only for travel within 60 days of calling and will expire at the end of current UY.

Good luck with your decision. :)
