Use Year and Points?

I have a question. My mother is a DVC member. On a Disney cruise last month, she added on 100 AKV points! What a surprise for me! I saw her paperwork and it says her use year is December 2007. December is her use year for her first points. Does this mean she has to wait to December to get those 100 AKV points? I am confused and she doesn't seem to know either. Thanks for any replies!

I bought AKV DVC last week and the points become active almost immediately. Did she get nay incentives with the purchase such as money off or developers points? If she got developers points then she should have extra points to use over and above her 100 points. The developer points have to be used within the next 12 months.

She should have 100 now and 100 more in December. You should call her Guide to make sure.

You need dto get the whole story from your mom. I doubt she just bought 100 points without an incentive.

Yes, my mom did take the money off incentive. She didn't do the double points because she was told they had to be used in 7 months and she knew she couldn't use them then. Is it 12 months? She just filled out the paperwork and sent it back. She couldn't do it on the cruise because she decided on her last night and they couldn't get it done in time. I am waiting till the paperwork goes through to see if she gets the 100 points now. She is trying to plan her Summer 2008 plans so we are trying to figure how many points she should have. From what you are saying she should have a total of 200 AKV points in Summer of 2008?
