use points or pay OOP

Posted this on DVC too but thought more people may see it here. Dh just hurt his leg and we can't fly without another adult to help with the care of our twins (airline rules). Sis could come but we'd need a two bdrm villa. Question is should we book 2bdrm at SSR for 314 points and cancel our 199 point ressie at OKW or should we pay OOP at POP or POR for sis? We'd have to borrow 14 points for our trip next Dec if we change our DVC plans. POR costs 1200 and POP is 700.

Airline rules? You're sure? What about the single people who have to travel with two small ones? The only way I think it would matter to the airline is if you're getting both children on the flight as lap babies, where one parent's lap=one child. Otherwise, I really don't kow why it'd be against airline rules.

We loved loved our 2bdrm at SSR. I think that would be better for you also as you could have the kitchen and 2 full bathrooms. I would probably be better is everyone was together.

I would definitely go for the 2 bedroom. That's what you have the points for right? So you don't have to pay oop for rooms. Have you checked availability at some of the cheaper DVC resorts? We got an AKV value studio less than a month out, OKW has similar prices. AKV values are less points and with having 2 bedrooms, I don't think you'd notice the slight loss of sq footage. You might be able to go w/out having to borrow those extra 14 points.

But I would definitely try to stay together. If your DH is incapacitated it might be a lot easier to have your sister staying w/ you to help in the room, getting to the parks, on and off buses. I went last May (thanks to an awesome Jetblue sale) w/out DH for a day. I had to juggle the stroller, an 18 month old and a diaper bag on and off the buses. I can't imagine doing it w/ 2 kids!

They are travelling as lap babies. I should check and see if I can buy one a seat and if that would be okay. Then I wouldn't need anyone to come along. Going to call now.
