Use of gift cards at Aulani

We are going to Aulani in June. DMIL is asking what I want for Christmas, and I was thinking of asking for a Disney gift card to use for spa, beach rentals, etc. Do they accept them at Aulani? Thanks so much!

I called Aulani yesterday to see if they sell Aulani Spa Gift Certificates and they told me to purchase Disney Gift cards at Disney.com to use there. So I can confirm they are accepted at the spa, and I'm sure if they are accepted there, they will be accepted all over the resort.

I received a gift card as a birthday present from my family and used it at the spa with no problem. It was purchased AT the resort, but it looked like a generic Disney gift card that you could buy anywhere.
