Use different log in for DVC and MDE

I called Disney today for help because in magic bands and cards there were two of me listed. One I created and one it don't know how it got there. Both were linked to KTTW cards from previous trips( I also did not do this). I linked my AP to the " me" I created. I then linked a reservation for January and it linked to the other "me". Story of my life! My Disney helper explained that I screwed up. I should not have logged in with my DVC username. She said the systems do not speak. I somehow now have a "DVC me"I created and a "Disney Me"they created. HUH?! I have my pass linked to the wrong me?! She said to leave it as the system will still work. I am skeptical. I am linked to a me with no pass after all. Does everyone use two logins. Am I the only person who has this issue?

I have 2 logins and so far I don't have any problems as long as I have my ressies, AP, etc, linked in the same account. When I created my DVC account I was told at the time to create a separate username but now that we have MDE I rather have everything under one account. I called a couple of weeks ago about this and I was told that the MDE technical team is working with DVC to merge anyone who has 2 accounts. They took down my contact information but I haven't heard back from anyone.

I had two log ins and it was a complete disaster. It took hours for them to fix it. I got lucky to speak with a wonderful CM who was willing to work it out with me right then and there so I didn't mind being on the phone all evening. I didn't need to wait for someone to get to it or for the system to merge the two.

She did say though that DVC is a problem because so many of us have two different log ins and that yes, you really need just one to make it work correctly.

Personally, I would be skeptical as well. I don't think I would trust the system to just work itself out. This is one glitch I am shocked they didn't think about before this whole thing started.

So far I have not had any issues with MDE and DVC although I have never tried to log into MDE using my DVC username and password.
I have not crossed the streams, so to speak. ;)

Our next trip is imediately after Thanksgiving. We rented a confirmed reservation with another members' points and I was able to register it with MDE. It doesn't show up at all on the DVC site and MS knows nothing about it. We'll see how things go, MagicBands have arrived, hopefully there will be no glitches.

The problems comes or did come with having a DVC reservation under the DVC log in and not getting it to link up to the MDE if you had/have a different log in name. For me they made it to be just one account and linked everything together. However, different people in the family showed up under different accounts so it took them forever to delete and combine. Hopefully the next trip will be trouble free if they can get all the bugs worked out.

Ahhh do I have experience with this issue... lol Or at least...a similar one.

Long story short... I had two different MDE accounts by accident, in addition to my DVC account. I had them swap everything over to the one MDE account with the email I wanted everything on.

Little did I know, the other account was the one that was linked to DVC. Which I noticed after the fact when I went to purchase our discounted APs and couldn't.

So, I went through the entire process again, which took till the next day to have everything showing correctly. Swapped email addresses. And now...I have the same login for MDE and DVC and everything is linked correctly using the correct email address... lol YAY!

I am very impressed with the IT department, and the great help I got from them with all of this.

The strange thing about all of this is that I want one account. That is what I was doing-logging into everything with me DVC username-and I was told today that I should not do that. Seems like you all were told the opposite....

I have always had just one login across all Disney sites - before I was a DVC member (since 1999) I was registered - and I was able to register on MDE with the same login. I know I've had this login for a long time because when my daughter was a baby, I used to use her name as my password so based on this, I know I've been registered on disney sites for almost 18 years :thumbsup2

Lol! Mine has the number 34 behind my name because that was my age in 2000 when we joined DVC. I depresses me now every time I type it in!

I only use the DVC login and all MDE is linked to it.

I 'think' somewhere out there is another login from some other Disney activity. It doesn't seem to be a problem so far and my vacation and MDE experience is going fine.

Just today I missed my fastpass+ and I was able to book another fastpass+ for an hour later using my phone and the MDE app. So it's working well this trip for me.

For situations where there are two logins (there was a period where DVC would NOT ALLOW you to use the same login as regular disney/espn/etc- we all HAD to make a duplicate- it was stupid) if you call DVC member services they have a website they can aim you to and give you a secret code that will merge your DVC and non-DVC log ins so both are linked to the same you.

BUT it sounds like you have 3? if that's the case I think you may need IT's help to combine the 3rd.

If your hotel reservations and tickets are on two different "me's" then you will not be able to get FP+ at 60 days.

So you at least need to get your reservations (DVC) and tickets (AP) onto one.

If you have on "you" with the reservation and tickets it probably is OK. So If you can currently make FP+ (if you are at 60 days?) then maybe just leave it be since they might make it worse- LOL.

A question for those of you who successfully had your multiple accounts (and/or information) combined - when were you able to do this? My mother has the same issue (discounted ap and all) and about three weeks ago, I spent several hours on the phone with Disney trying to get everything squared away. I called the main Disney MDE help line and had a rude CM basically call me a liar because there was no possible way that my mother was able to have two separate accounts both linked to the same email address (what can I say, she's a special lady!). When he finally got sick of me refuting his assertions, he transferred me over to member services who was able to, at least, get her ap transferred over to her active mde account. However, the very nice MS CM didn't quite understand the entire situation, so I called back another day and spoke to another, extremely helpful MS CM. She understood what I wanted to do, but told me that there was no way for them to do that. It's eventually what they intend to be able to do, but, it couldn't be done then, so my mom has to hang on until Disney figures out how to combine the accounts. Is it possible that this has happened in the last three weeks? (Is it too much to hope for?!)

It's obviously not a huge issue, but, it would certainly make her (and my!) life easier if she only had to struggle to maintain one account rather than her trying to juggle both. Any help or guidance would really be appreciated!

my wife was able to combine her's about 1-2 months ago by talking to member services and then getting aimed to the website and them giving her the code to enter.

I got my accounts fixed about three of four weeks ago. They had to send it to an IT expert, and I got an email from the person that fixed it the next day letting me know they were all set.

I could not make fast pass reservations this morning(60 days from my Jan 5 check in). I spent one hour 29 minutes on a conference call with Disney and DVC. DVC finally relinked the reservation to the correct avatar of me(with my annual pass linked to it). Problem solved in their eyes. They were very sweet. I am still bothered that they did not combine the accounts. Or somehow just make one of me! Next time I make a reservation, will it link to the wrong one again? We have 3 more trips planned before the end of summer. Two are booked with DVC and not linked yet and one will probably be a regular Disney cash reservation. Today they said very sweetly "well, just call back and we will fix it for you". Seriously, an hour and 29 minutes....

I was able to choose fast passes immediately. At least that is something:).

I have separate log ins but have my DVC and regular CRO resort reservations linked to my MDE as well as my dining reservations. Can someone explain why this will be a problem and advise me how to correct it?

We are 3 months out from our trip and I am hoping to use FP plus.

I am sure I remember someone posting to keep the log ins separate- cant remember who but they were adamant about not making it all one.

Several weeks ago I posted about having too many husbands! LOL, he ended up on my MDE page FOUR times! I had to call and get it straightened out because his ticket was linked to the wrong one. I told t he person who helped me it was nice to be monogomous again!;) ANYWAY...I was told we HAD to have the same log in information for both our DVC and MDE accounts to avoid having doubles. Could that be the problem?

you do NOT want separate logins. They should all be one. Sounds like they "linked yours"- once they do that either of your log ins will get you to the same MDE.

the system is a mess and they can't seem to combine multiples. What they do is move everything to one, make sure all your log ins aim to the correct one, and then let the 'orphan' one die off.

Assuming that's what they did to yours- One way to make the orphan die sooner- change your avatar on the "good one"- BE SURE IT"S THE GOOD ONE. then unlink everything (friends, reservations, dining, etc, etc) from the orphan. Once it has nothing linked it disappears. Leaving jus the right one, with everything linked to that one. (then i guess you can change the avatar back).

good luck!

PS- they really stink at communicating this whole process- they should explain it up front so people know what to do. Without that people accidently link stuff at all the different "me's" and perpetuate the mess.
