Use CAUTION when Reassigning Halloween and Christmas Party Tickets

Try it again the next time you're on property. It didn't work as you described. Instant "poof" to the FP+.
Oh this scares me. I hope you experts can do some additional research on this before mid-November...I have 2 FP generators (5 day tickets) and was planning to reassign them each night and get additional FP on another band and then assign them back to the original owner. Now I'm afraid to do that....I'm scared the FP I have already made with the generators will "poof" in the process.

The system will warn you before you make the swap - so you'll know if that's going to happen.

If you buy the party tickets on your regular MDE, you can get the AP discount. You don't need to set up a separate MDE as long as you make the names of the phantoms very distinct from any real names on the MDE. Make the ages 17. (That way you can later book these phantoms into resort rooms, if you want to, without paying anything extra for them as adult phantoms.)

The only people that Disney will assume are staying in your room will be the people on the resort reservation. Some people have 20 profiles on their MDE -- various children, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, grandparents, etc. etc. And of course, some people have phantoms, too. Disney is not going to assume that all of those people on an MDE are stuffed into a single room at All Stars. The address doesn't matter.

The MDE website will prompt you to choose the individual profiles for whom the party tickets are intended. Choose two phantoms that you previously set up. Ask them to mail you the hard plastic tickets - which you will need to enter the party and to access your FP+. You can only book FP+ for the night of the party for the phantoms, because that is the only day for which those phantoms have tickets. No ticket = no advance FP+.

First of all, thank you for your time and answers! I will be rereading that first page on the other thread. But, a few other questions if you have time please. I'm still deciding between using a new MDE and adding us as phantoms on my original MDE.

First, can't I also get a discount using my Disney Visa? Not sure on that. Other than the discount with the AP, any reason I shouldn't use a new MDE acct with the two of us on it? So, I have myself already on there, and I will add my DD25 as the other person on there(if I go that way). Both of us would have variations on our name(like shortened versions instead of full legal). They will not have any magic bands attached, of course. But, as you said, I can use the Party tickets on the other days before and after our actual Xmas party, for SDFP+ only. Either way, I'd have them mail me the hard XMas party ticket. Would I just need to take those party tickets with me to use in the kiosk to make SDFP? Or, can I make them thru the app on my phone or ipad, or at least adjust them after made at the kiosk? Then, going thru to tap for accessing the FP+ in the ride line, do I just tap my hard Xmas party ticket since I don't have any MB linked in that MDE? Will that work? Does it matter if I buy the tickets online or call in to by them?

Okay, thank you again! I will be going back to read the other thread when I have a bit of time to read, later.

Really, everything you need is on page one of the SDFP+ thread. I already spent a good bit of time dividing it all by category there to make it easier to find what you need. Rewriting it all here would not only be inefficient (for me, anyway) but it might prove frustrating for the mods who closed that thread. :)

Okay, have read it again. Still a couple things I don't recall seeing. If I missed them, I'm sorry.

First, I'll be using a second MDE acct with just my Xmas party tickets for SDFP, and I can make 3 FP+ at 30 days out for the party day only. Do they have to be in the approx 4-6:30 window of time, or anytime that day? I'm thinking probably in that window because they are party tickets that only allow you in after 4 p.m. but wanted to check.

Second, if we're using our xmas party hard tickets to get on the ride with our SDFP, should we remove the magic bands that we use for park entry, prebooked FP+, etc?

Thanks for your help! ::yes::

- FPs on the Party ticket date can be scheduled for anytime between park open and 6:30p
- no one cares how many MagicBands a person is wearing. As long as the FP tapstile turns green is all that matters.

Oh wow, that's great and what I was hoping, but figured I'd be wrong, lol. Works out great for us!
Hmm, okay, just didn't want them questioning using a card to tap rather than my band, but that will be easier not having to switch off at all!

Thank you, hiroMYhero, appreciate the answers, and so quick! :goodvibes

I just got back and used multiple cards and we also had bands, no questions, even when we saw the names show up on the screen that were not "us".

I wanted to thank hiroMyhero and ScrapYap AGAIN. Thanks to you both, our quick trip for MNSSHP with a 1 day ticket and MNSSHP tix, (with help from a few future use tix on MDE) a crowd 5 day turned into a fantastic FP filled fun day!!
Just myself, DD20 and DS3, and I was wanting it to be fullfilling since it was only 2 nights. IT WAS PERFECT!! pixiedust:
THANK you for all your help and insight!! :flower3::worship:

That sounds like it worked amazingly!!! We are visiting over Christmas week and are unsure if we will have family members joining us. If I buy tickets now and link them to additional people in my MDE, how early can I make the FP+? 60 days (like me who has an on-site package) or 30 days because they aren't staying on site? If they do not join us for the trip (still unsure), can those FP+ be used in the parks?

Thank you for such helpful information! We visited Disneyland in April and had an AMAZING trip, so it is hard to wrap my brain around FP+ at such a busy time. Disneyland was so very fabulous that the kids ask to go back just about every day. I don't want the Christmas trip to be a let-down for us...

You can read about how the 60 day window can "umbrella" over non-resort guests on page 1 of the SDFP+ thread:
http://www.disboards.com/threads/maximize-fp-get-a-second-set-see-post-227-before-posting.3245463/

The idea of SDFP+ is based on the fact that you don't have to use a ticket to enter the park in order to access FP+ assigned to that profile. So prebooked FP+ can definitely be used even when the ticket is not used for park entrance. That's how it's working right now. That could change.

Thank you! I feel more comfortable purchasing tickets in advance knowing that the worst case scenario would be that we could use the FPs (even without using the ticket for entry) and still have the tickets left over for future use. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the current process stays in place for a while...

I got mine in a email and I couldnt find where I could connect it to MDE. I brought the paper copies with me and all was good.
