Ok so I sent my request to IC for a secret verandah room. Now my dilema is how to book it. When they call when the iteneraries are out for booking can I just have them hold the room and book through a TA?

I am a USAA member and their travel company for a category 7 is usually about $400 cheaper than booking through disney. So do I put the down payment down with disney and try to get it tranfered to USAA for the cheaper rate? Or will disney hold the room just for me and then I can book it through the TA?

We are also USAA members. Out first DCL Cruise was through them and my cruise papers sat on someones desk in Texas for weeks. We were a week away from our cruise and they finally found them and had to send them overnight. Watch out. Also I found prices to be almost equal with Disney and Dreams Unlimited was also the same but give you nice shipboard credits to use.

We had the best service through DCL directly and just double check your prices. Also, once you book through USAA you can not make any requests or change with DCL. They will redirect you back tho USAA.

Good luck. Don't get me wrong, USAA is great and just make sure you keep up to date with them about documents if you book with them.

DCL stopped allowing TAs to discount their rooms a few years ago. If you are going to book a room when the bookings are released you will get the same offer. TAs can offer OBCs though. Some TAs are no longer taking transerred reservations so that is something you need to find out before deciding to make the reservation on your own and then transfering it. This is due to DCL restructuring their commissions paid to TAs to be less for transferred reservations so some TAs are just not taking transfers and some are offering lesser OBCs for transfers. It will be less stressful for you to just let your TA make the booking for you. Which ever choice you make, stick with it and do not double book "just in case". All this does is fill the pricing tiers faster than needed so the price jumps faster and then the cruise is listed as sold out when in actuality it isn't.

They don't offer lower prices I guess. They give discounts using reward points i think. So its still a cheaper cruise

Then I would find out from USAA if they will offer you the same deal if you transfer a resie to them and make your decision based on that. :)
