Wow. I am so chuffed. I just typed that website address and it automatically became a link. I had no idea it would do that. :lmao:

Okayyyyyy... We are not fighting the Iraqui or Afghan military, we are working with them and their governments. The terrorists/murderers are attacking anyone that is "different" than themselves, including their own countrymen. They are not making any differentiation between civilian and military, everyone is a free target. Look at today in Bagdad, large bomb in a market, no military target at all.

Second statement, I think I know what you are trying to say, but the wording that you used says that our government kills our people on purpose. It's real easy for a guerilla-style group to look like a civilian, they don't wear uniforms. Really easy to say, these guys that were shot were only innocent civilians, don't pay any attention that they were fully armed and charging a known police/military/government position.

As to the OP and getting back to the subject... A letter from a doctor will not allow any type of over-the-counter gels/drops/liquids to get through screening at this time. It must be a prescription in original bottle/tubes to be allowed.

You know what I am thinking. Can not these terrorists get a false prescription, done, and then slip by security? This is a loophole right there. I understand people need thier meds my mother has heart meds, but think these terrorists, can falsify anything. Now, I am getting scared to fly.
Another thing, how are we supposed to take our cell phones, hide them in our checked luggage, and hope the cell phones dont get stolen? :confused3

Just wanted to mention that here in the UK, over the counter medicine means anyone can buy it without a GP's prescriction. However, for people who are exempt from paying for their prescription, some of this medication may be prescribed by the GP, because it is the best medication for their affliction eg liquid paracetamol/nurofen/antihistamine etc. With a GP's prescription they do not have to pay for this product and therefore have a medical document that they can use to bring that liquid medication on board with them. I mention this because there may be people from the UK reading this thread who don't know that info and might think the above quote applies to us aswell. I don't know how this works in the US not having an NHS but it might be worth finding out if you can get a GP's signature for some over the counter mediction as sometimes this type of medication is prescribed by the GP and therefore is meant to be taken to alleviate symptoms. I don't believe for a second that if a doctor prescribes Co-Dydramol elixir (liquid form) for one person with Rheumatoid Arthritis (prescription only drug) and Paracetamol elixir for someone else with Rheumatoid Arthritis, that the person prescribed Paracetamol cannot take their important pain relieving medication on board with them because you can buy it over the counter.

ETA: If the over the counter medication has been prescribed by the GP it will have patient's name and details of the medication on the bottle

The last time I checked this was a forum about trips to WDW?

IMHO, some of us need to remember that George Bush is our president, like it or not, and currently there are terrorists trying to kill Americans and putting us all in danger. Iraq, Afganistan, etc. aside . . . They were citizens of Great Britain and born there, so who knows what the real reason for their cause is! All I know is that our safety depends on George Bush "and his merry men" as you call them, and because I'm an American I will continue to support him and all my friends and relatives currently trying to make this country a safer place for us and are children's future! Why wage a war among ourselves when others want to wage a war against us?

I may have tons of virtual rocks thrown at me but I'm thankful for the extra security. And (here's where I get the rocks) of late it seems carry-on has really gotten out of hand. Carry-on luggage larger than checked luggage and everyone in a multi-family with 2 pieces of carry-on and additional bags with food and beverages.

I know checked luggage isn't safe and it's a major pain having to wait to get your luggage but simplifying carry-on is really a good thing. And of course this doesn't apply to life-necessary medications & such.

I think people are forgetting that their treasured items aren't being prohibited totally - just from carry-on.

And as much of a pain it is paying for the toiletries down at Disney - Disney has drugstore delivery, Publix near-by, etc. for all your needs.

Those of who who say you are very thirsty while air-traveling - I say just politely ask for additional drinks!

It really is a very good thing. We've thwarted yet another attempt and doing so saved so many lives. Way to go U.K!

God Bless this country.

We already have been blessed, we are the wealthiest nation in the world and live in the least fear. God Bless the poor people who don't get to go to WDW every year and who will never have the luxury of discussing the inconveniences of travel.

Well, it looks like the stores in Orlando are going to be HAPPY to see me! :thumbsup2 my husband got back on a U.S. flight yesterday and they took away his tooth paste! I am going to seriousely have to re-think what I bring on the plane with me too. United stated that things like DVD players, Cell phones and computers are still ok to bring with you as a cary on. I am just worried about my CPAP machine which is for medical reasons...it's too valuable to me to check with the baggage because if it got lost in luggage I would have problems breathing at night and I can't afford to buy a new one. :teeth: Other then that, I am cool with the rules...just use some smarts and check with the airlines a couple of days before you leave. Good luck to everyone and SAFE flying! :cheer2:

As much as everyone complains about the office of president I certainly don't want to think about the pressure, stress and responsibility that comes with that position. If the average Joe with no political training thinks they can do a better job then that would make for an interesting reality show...

Whether I agree with everything he does or not I do believe that he truly has our best interests at heart and does what he feels is best for the world. He may not always be right but thats just the way it goes.

I don't understand why people would carry-on toothpaste. Do they brush their teeth on the plane? :confused3

The only things I carry-on are things I'm gong to use on the flight (my printed itinerary and reading materials, let's say), and things that are valuable/breakable and I wouldn't want to check (like my camera). I don't understand bringing toiletries on the plane. :confused3

And I think this is definitely great if it will stop the excessive carry-ons. People bring their whole house on the planes with them! :sad2: It takes forever to board, becasue they're looking for a place in the overhead bins to put it all. Everything that I bring fits under the seat in front of me.

Some people would like to. However, they'll just have to get over that.

I agree with you. People bring way too much stuff in their carry ons. Some one elses time is no more valuable than mine to hold up the plane trying to find someplace to jam their luggage or carry ons.

If it's a long flight, I like to brush my teeth on the plane. They do have those brush up wipes now.

I agree about the carry on luggage. I posted about this on one of these threads. It's getting rediculous anyway.

About breastmilk being exempt. Why would it be necessary to bring extra breastmilk?? I don't quite understand this. The convenience of breastfeeding, is the bottles are always with you right?? At least they were for me. :confused3

Nancy, I'm sorry that offended you, but I think you may have taken it the wrong way. I have nothing against the soldiers who decide to join the Marines. I have something against the person who was telling me that my feelings were petty.

Since there is no draft, those in our military choose to be where they are, fully aware of the consequences. It's very different than those who are forced to live without the little things. (Believe me, I would rather NEVER fly than not be able to listen to my music to calm myself down...i don't have a choice when it comes to work). I have my own stance about the military, but that is neither here nor there when you look at the facts. Again, I am sorry if I worded my response wrong. :grouphug:

Not to worry. I am a little touchy in regards to our service men and women. I'm sorry if I overreacted.

I thought it was baby formula that was exempt.

ABout the breast milk, some women may feel more comfortable feeding with a bottle on the plane, sometimes it is purchased breast milk (don't get me started on that one), or the baby may not feed well from larger breasts...seen it with sister in law - she pumped instead.

But my question is - Does anyone know how long this liquids ban will last or if it is permanent? We are not flying out till Sept 29.

Are we allowed to bring:

Toothpaste
Shampoo
Conditioner

Anything may change, so check before you fly, but as of now, you can bring them but they have to be in your checked luggage.

There’s the exemption, “Baby formula, breast milk or juice, only if a baby or small child is traveling” .

What’s the age limit on “small child”? We will be flying with our 21 month old. He no longer breastfeeds but drinks whole milk. We flew a couple of months ago and I brought along a few boxes of shelf stable milk that doesn’t need to be refrigerated. I asked the flight attendant for milk for him, but was told they only carry milk at breakfast. I don’t need to take juice for him, but he will cry if he can’t have milk. He won’t starve without it since he eats table food, he’ll just be cranky.

Just curious if anyone knows. I’ll call the actual airline the day before our flight.
