US/IOA Thanksgiving Day???

Thinking of doing US/IOA on Thanksgiving Day after we get off a cruise ship in Port Canaveral. We will be off the boat early and will drive straight to the parks, spend the night and head home Friday. There will be 5 of us, 4 already have tickets (from Costco). I would love to stay the night at the RPR for the express lines but we would have to all stay in one room to keep it in our budget. 2 rooms in a nearby hotel would costs less but would the lines be really bad?
Any suggestions on how to make the most of our day and keep it as cheap as possible?

If you're going on Thanksgiving Day and not Friday, you should be OK as lines aren't that bad on the actual holiday. Staying onsite would be nice but you will probably do just as well to stay nearby and save some money.

That sounds great. Thanks. I've always heard WDW was super packed that day so I assumed US/IOA would be almost as bad.

It's super packed on Friday...not so much on Thursday. It will still be busy but manageable.

One more question. I've heard traffic on I-4 around the parks, outlets, etc will be really bad Friday morning. Would it be a good idea to drive back to I-95 after doing the parks and finding a room there?
