I finally got thru today! I asked if my flight was canceled. They said there is no flight by that number! I said, Hmm.. I made my reservations in July. So what you really are saying is..It is canceled.. Uh Yes, they said. I asked when they were going to let me know since I am leaving in less than a week. They said that they have stopped calling people and figure if people want to know they will call them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I told them that wasn't very nice at all! *sigh! Tey did book us on another flight auromatically.. I am trying to just be cool because I do not want our first and probably only Disney trip to be riddled with tension and strife. But I did want you all to know!

I'm glad they rebooked you because my flight was cancelled yesterday at 12:33pm. I had checked at 10am and they were fine but when I rechecked around 3:20 they had been cancelled and all flights except for an 8:50pm flight for that day were full. When I finally got through they had not automactically rebooked me so now we are going at 8:50pm on Friday instead of 6:45am on Saturday. Of course my new flight only shows up if I look for that flight specifically not when I do a search for flights from BWI to MCO .... hopefully the flight really exists and we will get to WDW. So I will call tomorrow and Friday to check the status especially since the web site does not tell me what type of plane it is. Hopefully all will end well. :confused:
 
I just got of the phone with customer service. My 6:20 am flight out of Philly was cancelled. They booked us on the 7:55 am flight. We will be cancelling and getting a refund! We usually drive anyway and with the way they are juggling flights we are more comfortable driving. I was actually hoping they would cancel.
 
do you only know if your flight is cancelled by calling customer service? I have been watching the website for our flights in early Nov and I am assuming they are all ok. We will also be flying out of Philly and want to make sure we find out in time about any flight cancellations.

Also, did they refund your money completely since you didn't take the rebooked flight?

customer service. BUT I also put my flight number into their website spot and it came up canceled. When I could not get thru to the airlines, I called a local travel agency and asked them to check on the flight! They were very nice! So I did know ,but I needed to call customer service and double check. I did not get any refund at all. They said I got a great deal on the flight that I was on first and was paying less than the price for this one.

I just checked our 4 flights for mid November at the web site and 3 of the four had time changes. Only 10 or 15 minutes but the agency used to always notify you of flight changes - number, time, etc. Does anyone know if there have been a lot of cancellations or just certain flights? The ones I checked all had basically the same info I had, but none said SOLD OUT or FULL. That seems odd! I'm beginning to get a little nervous. They might get regular phone calls from me!!:confused:
 
I was booked on a direct flight for Metrojet out of Syr on 10/01, of course, cancelled. The only way I found out was constantly checking flight info on their website. I immediately called and was rebooked on another flight arond the same time as the orginal flight. I constantly checked the website up to the minute we left and it showed our return flight still on. Upon check in, the customer rep stated our return flight was still O.K.. I made sure they had the resort number to contact us of any change, they assured me they would contact me if anything changed. Wrong!! I called from our resort on 10/04 to verify our return flight. Yep! it was cancelled. Waited on the line for a rep, yes your flight was cancelled. GRR!!! Rebooked on another flight leaving 1/2 hour laterr than the orginal flight and no seat confimation on the first leg of the flight. She assured me that I would be assigned seats at the ticket counter. The moral of the story: CHeck your flight status daily coming and going!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I have been checking my reservation but not the flight. I better do that now. I am also going out of BWI in mid Nov.
 
Joan--are you supposed to be on MetroJet? I had MetroJet for December and I've been checking every day. Up until today, there was only one change and that was to depart 45 minutes early. Checked tonight, and the MetroJet flights are all gone and have been replaced by US Air. They had re-booked me to fly out an hour and 5 minutes earlier and and return an hour and a half earlier, plus connecting in Charlotte each way. It would have been difficult for us to make that flight since it was 2 hours earlier than the original flight and you have to be at the airport earlier now as well. Plus, a 4 hour flight as opposed to a 2 1/2 hour flight. I called and they were great--switched me to National(though did warn that those flights were subject to change as well, but I really wanted National over BWI anyway)on the flights I asked for, no problem. I was suprised it was so easy because I had paid about $200 less due to flying out of BWI, but they were very accommodating. Now I just have to cross my fingers that everything will be back to normal at National by December!
 
We called yesterday and were told MetroJet is not closing or cancelling all there flights. Our flight out of Boston, a direct was cancelled. Our flight back to Manchester, NH was not. DW was able to rebook the flight and they let us change the time on the return. Rumor now is that USAir may be pulling out out of MHT.

I checked my flights and they are still on, only 5 to 10 minute changes. I did find that they reduced the price. I called but could not get through, I spent 20 minutes on hold. I sent and email and asked for the reduced rate. They are sending me vouchers for the difference. They are good for a year. Let's just hope that USairways is still around in a year.

We still have direct flights both ways. They are Metrojet. I assume that they are waiting until after Thanksgiving to eliminate those flights.
 
They didn't say anything to me about vouchers?

FYI. Both of my flights on Metrojet (from BWI) were cancelled - Dec. 3rd to MCO and Dec. 7th return to BWI. However, after calling US Air last night I found out they had already re-booked me on other flights. I did lose my direct flights and will now have a lay-over each way but at least they re-booked me - with times that matched closely with my old flights! The agent seemed confident that the new flights would not be cancelled since they were actual US Air flights (rather than MetroJet). By-the-way, I was only on hold for about 5 minutes before an agent came on the line :)
 
Do you find out if your flight is being canceled by going to "existing reservations?" I just want to make sure I am checking correctly. Our flight is November 4th with USAir.
 
To check flights on US Airways web site go to flight status and put in you flight #. Yes I know it only gives you the option of today or tomorrow but once you push enter and get the information for that flight it gives you the option of checking more flights and dates. At this point put in flight number and the day you are leaving and enter. It only took me 2 months to realize that I could check flights this way and not have to go into my reservation each time. We just returned via Metrojet last night from MCO to BWI and people on the flight said that the last flight of the evening had been cancelled so they were on the 6:30 flight instead -- luckily this was our original flight.

I asked about getting the lower rate on my flight. They volunteered the voucher since to give me the cash, they would have to rebook my tickets and the penalty would be larger than the difference. But at $58 each for 4 tickets, I was happy:p I just hope they are in business this time next year.

My only other issue is I really prefer a direct flight. I do not like the idea of layovers. Move chance to lose your luggage.
 
Does anyone have an 800 number for MetroJet/Us Airways
so I can find out whether my flight on 11/7 is cancelled or
rescheduled?
