Has anyone flown US Airways lately? My DH and I just booked them for our 10th anniversary trip to the caribbean. I've never flown anyone but Southwest and we will be flying three flights each way with them! I am very nervous and would appreciate any advice. Also, we only have a 50 minute layover in Philly, will we make it? Thanks!

I am a preferred flyer us USAirways. They are good and their front line workers are the best. The 50 min connection is a little tight. It depends on your gates if that is enough time. If there is a large number on your flight for that connection they will probably hold the plane for awhile.

Thanks for the info. Would they even give me those flights, if I couldn't make one of them? I mean, that is how they sold the flight to me, so you would think it would be doable - it wasn't like I was given other options or anything. I hope it won't be a problem - DH will freak, he hates traveling.

Yes airlines do book with tight connections. You might want to check with the airlines to see if there is something they can do.

We fly with them(US AIR) or Continental only for FF miles. Never have had a problem and they are usually on time.::yes::

Most airlines when booking will use a minimum connection time of 30 minutes. They assume that anything more than that is enough time. I had a 36 minute connection in Chicago O'Hare over Thanksgiving ... that was a bit tight.

As far as US Air goes, I don't fly them a lot, but when I do, I've generally not had any problems. The one problem I had was with US Air Express (their regional carrier) out of Regan National Airport in DC. Worst ground crew I've ever experienced.

Thanks everyone, I think I will call just to see what they say about the 50 minute connection.
