US Air and AirTran Question regarding Bankruptcy

Is AirTran going to be affected by the Bankruptcy of US Air?
I'm so confused regarding this situation.
Seems everything out of Philly is affected by US Air.
All United flights say they are operated by US Air and isn't AirTran owned by US Air?
I know I could choose Southwest...but the thought of the "cattle call" puts me off.

Air Tran is not owned by USAirways. United and US Airways have code share flights where you can book with United but be on USAirways. United is not owned by USAirways but they are having their own money woes.

If USAirways folds there will be a scramble for gates at PHL. Right now Southwest is trying to take over PHL so there is a price war. If USAirways goes away no need to have low fares by Southwest.

Air Tran and USAirways are not related. Air Tran is attempting to grow their routes. Here in Pittsburgh, they now have 2 non-stops to and from Orlando, also connections through Atlanta. I flew them earlier this month and both flights were pretty full. They are trying to offer an alternative to USAirways, which dominates the Pittsburgh market. I think if USAirways goes under, you will see them increasing flights in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. I would also expect them to try to buy some of USAirways' assets (planes, gates, etc).

Thank you both for the information and clearing up my confusion regarding Air Tran.
I think I will try them for our February flight as an alternative to Southwest.
