urgent MDE double booking question

We check in tomorrow. I want to upgrade and I found a good price on the MDE website. I'm afraid if I wait until 7 o'clock the room will be gone. It happened yesterday - when I called, the rate was no longer available. If I book it now through MDE, I'll have to pay in full and then call guest services to request a refund of the original paid-in-full reservation. Do you think this is too risky??
 

Nope. The rooms were gone. In the future, the CM said to go ahead and double book, not to worry about a refund.

It would be too obviously a 1st world problem to complain, so I won't. We're flying out before the blizzard and landing in 85 degree weather
 
It's too late but if you see a room category online and call and the CM says they don't see it tell them you see one and to check again. I've had that happen a lot and strangely, when I tell them I see a room online they look again and find it.
