Ok...I've been to IOA and U twice but always had park counter service. I'd like to actually experience dining there...but I need a shove in the right direction! :thumbsup2 So what was your favorite restaurant, costs, and did you need advance reservations? TIA :goodvibes

I like Thunder Falls at IOA and Louie's at the Studios. No reservations needed and the prices are very reasonable...IMHO.

I know you wanted sit down places but, I've only eaten at the Hard Rock Cafe before. But will go to Bubba Gump's when it opens this spring.

I would have to say the Enchanted Oak is my fav at IOA. Price is great for the amount of food you get and the theming is awesome. It is nice, dark, and cool inside, great for thoes hot florida days. I forget the price (I think it was between $7-8) but their Turkey leg meal is great. You get the leg, corn on the cob, fires, and I belive a brownie. It is well worth it.

At USF I would suggest the hot dog stand right outside of the exit of Jaws. They have awesome hotdogs that are huge! and they come with enough fries to feel you up. Also, Mel's Diner is a decent place there for a burger.

As for a sit down resturaunt I would suggest Jimmy Buffet's Margaretaville @ citywalk. Great atmosphere and wonderful food.

Hope this helps!

Since you said dining I would give Mythos at IOA a try. The food and atmosphere is great. Lombards Landing at Universal is very good too. We didnt need advance reservations for either but we did eat later than the usual crowds would for lunch.

Without a doubt, Mythos at IOA is a favourite of ours. The theming, service and food are all excellent and, on a nice day, you can sit out on the verandah and look over the lake toward the Hulk. Excellent :thumbsup2

Check out the Universal pictures thread for some food pics from Mythos :)

Confisco Grill is lovely and a little tucked out of the way even though it is near the entrance!

Claire ;)

My ds loved NBA City in Citywalk, and Mel's in USO. He said he liked basketball so much that the restaurant was great for him. and Mel's is a classic from the movie American Graffitti, and he liked that too  And our favorite was NASCAR cafe!! the food is great and the atmosphere is even better!

Another vote for Mythos and Lombards. We always do reservations.Tchoup Chop was awesome.Margaritaville is really over-rated.Foods OK, but being in Key West watching the veritable freak show that walks in and by there is the only reason we go to the Original one.

Mythos, best place in the parks. Mels is okay. Emerils in Citywalk was awesome, but Choup Chop in Royal Pacific Hotel was a little over rated. Remember there are two Emeril resturants at UO. My favorite, hands down, is Mama Dellas over at the Portofino Bay hotel. Awwww....the staff is unbelievable. The food is moderately priced, but it is well worth it. Reservations arent needed, but suggested. They have 5 different themed rooms, or is it 4? Anyway, they have them. And usually a guy walking around singing old italian songs, he is awesome.
As far as everything else...well, they're okay. Mostly the same kind of fare, hamburgers, fries. Latin Quarter is very good. Pat O'Briens has awesome food, and live entertainment after 4, i think. Fun joint. Margaritaville is way over-rated, and the line is always long.

Mythos and Lombards Landing are also my favorite restaurants in the parks. If you really want to "dine", try Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific. You will need reservations for that one.

While most IOA places have great food, Mythos is the BEST overall, food, atmosphere, service, desserts...you've gotta go there

Edit: It's also been rated as the #1 theme park restaurant in the world a few times

i agree with all of you on mythos and lombards.

but, i do love finnegans.........food is good and comes fast after you order it.
a decent selection also.
