Upset with the Disney store

I went to the same sale last weekend at our mall in King of Prussia, PA and I got the flip flops for $1.99 + 40% off, and also got the wide princess headband for the same price. She said everything on clearance was an additional 40% off.

If that is true, you might want to check your reciept and ensure that your flip flops rang up $1.19.

I just find it hard to believe that some stores computer systems are applying 40% off to everything while others (including my store) are not.

I didn't buy flip flops, but other items for my DS with the red tag & they took off the 40%. Good Luck

It can be very confusing - during the course of this sale some items were red tagges with an additional 40% off and I believe extra 25% off - all red tagged. Since the start of the sale some items that were not originally 40% have gone to 40% off. The sales can change quite often and it can be frustrating. And during the course of the sale some items are put out without a red sticker and markdown that should be. It can be very frustrating but I believe the stores are doing the best they can. I just think it's crazy they are trying to get rid of summer stuff in July to get out the back to school stuff.

At the DS here in Dallas, not everything that was red tagged was an addl 40% off.. only select items. Those were tagged with an additional 40% off sign. There were many things in the store that were red tagged but not included in the alld markdowns.
The flip-flops were one such item. They were $ 1.99 per pair and have been since the sale started here. Ea store appears to be different.

Actually I bought the flip flops a couple of weeks earlier when they were on sale for 1.99 and I wanted to buy more now that they were an additional forty percent off. My complaint is that I was told the flip flops were already marked an additional forty percent off at the 1.99 price and I knew that was incorrect. Do I make any sense?
Also you weren't there so you don'tknow how her attitude was. I am sure she is normally a nice person but that morning she was diffently on the defense so maybe she had already had problems with the sale.

So what was the ORIGINAL retail price on these things???

I don't.... That is very easy for a computer to do and not at all uncommon in nationwide chains. Sales are "adjusted" based on a variety of factors..

The Disney Store doesn't though. They don't do regional pricing, regional sales, or regional discounts/clearance. The sale price in one store is the sale price in all of the stores. The price that rings in one store is the price that rings in all the stores. I worked a few years as a lead at TDS (both under Disney and under Hoop Retail) and know this firsthand.

The retail owner does do this for their other chains. I have in the past bought some "clearance" winter items for my friends kids when they were still FULL price in the NE. So they have the skill sets to do it.... no reason they couldn't start...
