UPS/ AMAZON ... ugh?! ... NOW, with SMACKDOWN!

Well, I think we're all spoiled because if you're ordering stuff less than two weeks before Christmas, you are taking a risk. Amazon and UPS are usually so good.

Having said that, I placed an order with Amazon at 10 pm Sunday night, they guaranteed delivery by December 24th.....for free...and UPS dropped if off at 10 am this morning (Tuesday.) Yup, 36 hours from order to in my hands.

I am amazed too, as I placed an order with Amazon on Sunday at 4pm and it got to me Monday at 2pm, with our free 2 day shipping from the free Amazon prime from the Mom club or whatever. Less than 24 hours!!!

Here's my shipping and tracking info from 4 items I bought yesterday:

HORSHAM, PA, US 12/20/2010 10:15 P.M.
DAMAGE REPORTED / DAMAGE CLAIM UNDER INVESTIGATION

12/20/2010 10:12 P.M.
MERCHANDISE IS MISSING. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH ADDITIONAL DETAILS. / ALL MERCHANDISE MISSING, EMPTY CARTON WAS DISCARDED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE

US 12/20/2010 6:32 P.M.
BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

So within 4 hours of being shipped at 6:32 pm, all my crap disappeared out of the box into magic UPS no man's land. :confused3

Guess my kiddo is going to have a karaoke machine and no karaoke CDs this Christmas (really, it was Camp Rock 2, so it might actually be a WIN, not a loss for me).

Give Amazon a call - they will ship your order out again so that you receive it in time for Xmas - their customer service is great :thumbsup2

I agree amazon is great with cs.
I got a dvd last week that was not sealed correctly, you could hear the disk bouncing around, so when I looked at it, it looked scratched, so I emailed them on monday, no sooner did I hit send that I had a return email that they would send me a replacement, and a label to send back the damaged one at their cost.
the new replacement dvd was delivered tuesday, 24 hours later!

Well......I have spent some time in Horsham, PA and people there might like a little bit of Jonas brothers to liven up the evenings...just sayin' :rolleyes1.

I'm about to leave home to go work with a 3 year old client in Horsham, just blocks from the UPS facility. We may or may not be jammin to the Jonas Bros. today. :rotfl2:

OP, hope it all works out for you!

I placed an order on Amazon on 12/12. Got an e-mail on 12/13 that it had been shipped, via UPS, and should arrive between 12/16 and 12/21. Well, GUESS WHAT? 12/21 was YESTERDAY! NO PACKAGE! And guess what else? NO TRACKING, because this is a 3rd party seller.

I e-mailed the seller last night. I can't open a claim until Friday, and Amazon says I must contact the seller before I can open a claim anyway. I am IRATE. Not that this is a Christmas item - it isn't. I am irate that these sellers don't provide any tracking info. Obviously there is a problem. But without tracking I can't judge how MUCH of a problem. SOMEBODY owes me a $60 backpack, but I can't tell if it is UPS or the seller, Altman Luggage. Their feedback is mostly positive, but apparently they have problems with delayed delivery AND not responding to customer inquiries.

OP, I hope you get your items!

All items in hand! Yay!

Good news!

I ended up calling Amazon today. I told them I have e-mailed and called Altman Luggage and NO RESPONSE. I asked Amazon to please contact them and find out where my backpack might be. The man was very nice, put me on hold to contact the seller.

Seller says: They sent the backpack USPS (NOT UPS like the shipping notice said) and it seems the post office lost it. But not to worry. They have already filed a claim with the post office. Um, hello? I still have NO BACKPACK and you people still have my $60! It's lovely that they filed a claim. WHEN exactly did they know it was lost? :headache:

So they tell Amazon they are overnighting a replacement and I should have it tomorrow. I now have an e-mail WITH a tracking #, that says tomorrow.

My thought is that they never sent it. Just sent an e-mail that said they shipped it and figured they would get around to it whenever. To lie about the service used for delivery is wrong. And then to say they are SURE I won't end up with 2 bags? How do they know that? Unless they never shipped the first bag they can't be certain the first one won't eventually be delivered to me. The guy claimed they shipped it 3 day Priority so it should have been here no later than 12/16.

Lesson learned. No more merchandise through Amazon unless Amazon is the seller. :sad2:
