Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

Hurray for the new wheels!!!

I  the Finding Nemo show. I tear up every time. Really love the singing.

You are on ur own for the Bug Show-no way any of us are seeing it

I think I can give Dinosaur a pass this time

I think I know the Epcot answer :)

Congrats on the new car Kathy!

Thanks for sharing the pics of Finding Nemo :thumbsup2 We never got to see the show but it looks great!

Great hat photos as usual and I laughed out loud at the Buzz Lightyear one!

Yay on a DIS meet and getting a magic shot with Simba and Stitch!

The gift shop in Dinosaurland is my favorite in WDW. They have things I never see anywhere else in the park. Great photos.

Hey, stranger; I've missed you. It's one of my favorite gift shops too!

Again, great photos!

I am glad you enjoyed Finding Nemo, we did it too in September, we were within the last ones who walked in and had a great seat! :thumbsup2

And another DISmeet, isn't if fun!

You know Kathy, we just love all those shops. It sometimes is so hot at AK that you just "need to cool down" ...... and the shops are perfect for that ...... plus there's lots to try out and try on! :lmao:

We were off to the left a little near the back, but we could see everything great.

See, I find the Studios to be much hotter than AK. But I do love the gift shops at AK -- there are lots of cute ones.

You cranked out the updates, didn't you!

So you finally saw Nemo. I LOVE that one and I am glad to hear you enjoyed it too.

Dinosaur is one of my favorite rides. I know I have been on it enough times. I know it isn't real, but some how that last part...where the picture is taken. OMG! It gets me every time. Not you though, eh? Cool as a cucumber with your sunglasses on. ;)

All of your photos are great. It is so neat to see you and Mark have fun in the shops. I think the minute I walk into one with my dh it is as though a timer starts and I am racing the clock to see what I want to see before the buzzer (ie. when dh has had enough)goes off.

You got some great shots of the tree of life. I tend to rush through there and we just don't get the pictures of the trunk. :sad2:

I got in a mood last night with updates. And I really have to get going on this TR so that I can start my PTR for January (74 days until I am back in Florida).

We LOVED Nemo, and I think Dinosaur is great (I did it by myself lasdt year because Mark didn't want to do it after his neck surgery). That's me...cool as a cumcumber. ;)

I was determined to try to get some new Tree of Life photos this year...we too always rush through it.

We do have fun in the gift shops with our photos.

Woo Hoo on the new car! I know you were ready to get the car buying process over with and it sounds like you got a good deal to boot.

It looks like you two had good seats at the Nemo show. We've never really enjoyed the show but we have also had crappy seats both times we have seen it so that may have something to do with it.:confused3

Thanks, lisa. Although not a "NEW" car, we are happy with our new used car. It's really nice. We did really well with the price.

Actually, we were near the back on Nemo, but still had a great time.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun during the rest of your day at AK :goodvibes The Nemo show looks really cool, we have not seen that one before

We LOVE Dinosaur, but what I love even more is that Buzz hat with the face that Mark is making....hilarious!!

I swear every photopass we stopped at they did the Stitch shot :rotfl: gotta love him or hate him in some cases

Shannon, you and Tim have to go see Nemo next time you are at Disney.

You know...until I start posting the pictures, I hadn't really paid attention to them. That Buzz one was really great!

I don't love Stitch at all (despite what Marv thinks); I think next time I'll ask them NOT to do that pose and give us something else.

Congrats on the new car!

Wow, so many updates! The Finding Nemo show sounds like it would be so good, but I don't know if I can get past the people holding the fish puppets, it just seems a little distracting to me!

I've never done ITTBAB! I'm nervous about it, isn't there a part with bees in it? I'm terrified of bees...:scared1:

Great hat pics, as always! :rotfl:

Aww, I love your photopass pics! I really love the Stitch one, even though I don't really like Stitch that much!

Thanks, Jen. I HATE bugs, but I do love the show. :)

Finding Nemo is an absolute MUST DO for us each trip. I'm not sure if I could rate FN or FotLK higher ... I'd say they're pretty equal ... but I absolutely love it! Thanks for the FN pics! :cloud9:

I have not attempted Dinosaur... I'm too scared! :scared1: :lmao::rotfl2:

And I'm not a fan of ITTBAB ... the ending.... it creeped me out. :scared1: Yes, I was the mom who was screaming. :lmao::rotfl2: DS had no clue what was going on and why I was screaming, since he was sitting on DH's lap. So... I won't be going back. :sad2:

Love the Tree of Life pics! :cloud9: I may have to go get some this next trip ... even if I don't see the show. Maybe DH and DD will see it and DS and I will go find a character to meet. :thumbsup2

As always, love the hat pics and the PP pics!

Dinosaur is awesome...you should give it a try.

So you were that lady screaming at ITTBAB! The only thing that upsets me about that show is the parents who walk out and say they shouldn't let see kids see it...it's too scary. Did you NOT read the sign at the beginning that says it could be frightening to small children? I have to say...both our boys loved it. Andy's gf in high school HATED it...I never laughed so hard as I did during various times of the show and her reaction. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Can you believe that Jasmine and I have never seen the Nemo Show? It is definitely on my list for next time...it's an absolute must for me to see FOTLK but next time I want to do both!!

Nice to have a Dismeet no matter how short! I love meeting the people we talk to on here, they are all wonderful aren't they?

I also missed sending you congrats on your new ride!! The more miles we put on them the better...vehicle prices are ridiculous!

Hope you are all having an awesome weekend:hug:

You and Jas must go...it is so good. I want to do both next trip too.

The people on the DIS, for the most part, are great.

Thanks; it's good to have a car to replace the one my brother totaled and one we are happy with.

Carnews must be "IN" this week end as Judy got a new car yesterday. She has been talking to the dealership and telling them she needs anewer but more fuel efficient car and yesterday she got it !!It's a 2010 Dodge Journey !! Has 3 rows of seats if needed all sorts of compartments and she is thrilled with it !!!!I too will try to get a pix taken and post!! Now there is just me to look for a newer car , but right now I can't afford it !!

Rosie, I hope you are able to get a new one too. We would have never been able to get this without the insurance money.

You got some great AK photos!!!!

I still haven't seen nemo, so sad! Fun update :goodvibes

Thanks, Cynthia. You must take the boys next time to see it.

Oh sure, you SAY that but then I think you post a
picture in your next updates that proves otherwise!!! :rolleyes1
I don't know......somehow I think I am waaaayyyy behind on the butt, uh, wisecracks! :guilty:

I did NOT ask for that photo to be taken, however.

And I'm not so sure about you being waaaaaaaaayyyy behind on the "wisecracks" -- especially if we combine EVERYWHERE you do them. ;)

Congrats on the newsed car! Glad you finally found something you were happy with!

It's a nice car; I forgot to take a picture today.

Yep, there it is!!! :rotfl2:

Twas not my idea; in fact, I said to Mark when they told us to pose...here come the picture with that impy blue guy we don't like. :lmao::lmao:

My fave!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Marv; I like that picture too.

So glad you finally saw Nemo. I love, love, love that show. Thanks for taking all those pics - They turned out great!

what a wonderful day in AK. I am totally excited to go back there in just a month!

Out of all the hats Mark has tried on so far, I really think the best is the buzz hat. Too cute!

Congrats on getting a new car. That's always so fun!

Thanks, MaryEllen. I had almost forgotten about it and Mark said, Nemo's starting soon...let's get over there. Gotta love my hubby.

It was really a fun day at AK; next time I want to spend a full day there if we can.

The Buzz hat is cute.

Kathy, I am so sorry I haven't been on your TR lately, I started my new job on the 24th and life has been beyone hectic! But I am caught up at long last!

Love all the photopass pictures and totally cracked up at the story of Mary's daughter in the Space Mountain line!:rotfl::rotfl:

So glad you enjoyed OKW, its a wonderful resort and you'll be taking a nice break from the Chicago winter in just a couple of months.

I do have a question on the photopass thing: If they can insert Baby Simba into Marks arms (too cute btw) why can't they UN-insert that crane behind the castle??? :confused3

Congrats on the new car, I'll try to get back on here later in the week so I don't get so behind. Say hi to Mark and tell him the hat pictures always give me a smile.

Hi, Amy. I'm glad you started the new job. How is it? Do you like it?

Cayley is definitely a character. We loved OKW and I can't wait to be back there in 74 days.

Good question; perhaps we should ask them why they CAN'T remove that darn crain.

Mark says hi back.

Hurray for the new wheels!!!

I  the Finding Nemo show. I tear up every time. Really love the singing.

I think I know the Epcot answer :)

Well, with a whole day planned at the AK, we can do both shows! You don't like It's Tough to be a Bug? I'm disappointed. And NO Dinosaur? Will the girls do Dinosaur with me? Tell them they must or NO EE for me. ;)

Thanks, Tanz. It was such a great show and gives you a happy feeling.

Buzz was a great hat for Mark.

I love the magic shots from the photopass photographers (well, all except Stitch that is).

We can see both shows!!! Nope on the bug show. Ditto on Flights of Wonder. i have a major bird fear. Av will probably do Dinsaur with ya. I was reading this with them sitting right here and I almost asked them :scared1:

more great hat photos and love your photopasses, we got the baby simba one this time too! yah, yah, will try to post an update tomorrow!

YAY...Tigger....And I have to say I love the earings you were wearing that day too. Very cute.
I have yet to see Nemo. I must try to fit it in someday

I left off with us leaving the AK. Mark and I decided to head back to OKW and get some pool time in. A few pictures along the way to the pool:

I love how Disney even has the sidewalks in theme with the resort:

Yes, Mark was ready to just chill:

Day4158.jpg

We saw lots of these guys at OKW:

Day4160.jpg

After about 45 minutes at the pool, it started to drizzle and then it started to be a steadier rain. So we headed back to our room.

After we got to the room, there was a knock on the door. We received another package...we were really getting spoiled. This one was from Nicki and Todd, our bestest friends.

Nic, please do not hate me...I totally forgot to take pictures of the wonderfl gift you and Todd sent. It was similar to the one Tim and family sent, but with different goodies in it. We had plenty to nibble on while at Disney and more for the condo once we got to Marco Island. THANK YOU AGAIN--WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

Right after that, the sky opened up. It has not rained like this while we were in Florida since 2008...it was thundering, lightening and just a torrential downpour. We were sitting on the patio talking to Nicki on the phone and actually lost our connection with her during the storm.

We then took showers and were deciding what to do as it was still pouring. Mary and I had been texting back and forth. Mary wanted to know what we were doing for dinner and we had planned on eating at Tangierine Cafe in World Showcase and she thought they would meet us there.

Mark and I headed to the bus stop:

Day4165.jpg

Waiting for the bus:

Day4166.jpg

We literally waited less than 2 minutes for the bus (and this became a pattern on the trip...it was awesome).

On the bus:

Day4168.jpg

Mary and I kept texting as we were in transportation. We met up at the front entrance (they left the kids with grandma and grandpa on such a gloomy night). The guys decided they wanted bratwursts and beer so they went to Germany's Sommerfest and Mary and I stuck with Tangierine Cafe. If you are followed my dining review, you know I wasn't crazy about it. Glad I tried it, but I won't be back.

We waited and waited for the guys, wondering what was taking them so long. We got tired of waiting, so Mary and I headed back to France and I got a Grand Mariner Slush and she got a Grey Goose Slush. We both tasted each other's but preferred our own. We walked through the rain drops and headed back towards Morocco so the guys would be able to find us. It turns out, that Jeff had wanted a second beer and that is what took them so long to get to us.

We decided to walk back to Norway and get some dessert. After we had our desserts, we decided to ride Maelstrom since we were there.

Day4175.jpg

Day4177.jpg

Dump shop at the end of the ride means what??? Yes, you got it...hat demonstration. And we got Jeff involved this time around too.

Great updates!!! I so enjoy your reporting! Feel like I'm right there with you!

I do have a funny Nate story - one of your readers posted how much they like the Dinosaur gift shop... on our second visit, so Nate would have been 6, he fell in LOOOVE with a t-rex that was about as big as he was... it was really the only thing he wanted so Eddie and I decided we would get it for him but he'd have to carry it on to the plane. Nate was very responsible with it and slept with it the remainder of the trip. Now mind you - this is not a cute stuffed animal souvenir... this thing was as ugly as the t-rex in the ride... So fast forward to airport... no issues with security... several funny comments though because the thing had to go through the x-ray machine, etc.... we board the plane and this poor woman (sweet as pie after the fact) sees Nate round the corner where she was seated in the front of the plane and I hear this blood curdling scream... that thing scared her to death. She was enroute to Ireland which we learned was her home and she had not seen anything like Nate's 'new friend.' Her scream scared Nate, then she was embarassed and he immediately said "he's not real... do you want to touch him?" and that pretty much melted her heart. But I felt so bad for her!! I'm sure it is a good story she shared with friends/family when she got home, too. :rotfl:

I'm sad to say that the t-rex did not make the move with us this past April when we moved to our new house... :sad2:

The rain was not easing up, so we decided to head out of the park and call it a night. There was no line for Spaceship Earth and figured we might as well hit it on the way out. My pictures never turn out in here (probably no flash), but I gave it a whirl:

We parted ways, Mary and Jeff heading off to go back to the resort, and Mark and I decied to head over to Mouse Gears and try to find a few souvenirs. And what do you think we saw:

As we were leaving Mouse Gears, the fountain show had started, so we stopped to see that:

Great updates Kathy! OKW looks so beautiful and the pool doesn't look busy at all...gotta love that!

Sounds like a great adult evening in Epcot! I love to eat in Germany at both TS and CS, Jasmine, not so much! Needless to say, it's been awhile since we've eaten there! Tangerine Cafe....just can't do it! I'm usually pretty adventurous, but I just can't do it!

So on our honeymoon, we went to the Sistine Chapel and learned that Michelangelo didn't paint on his back, but rather standing up. So Geoff said to me, "Does that mean Spaceship Earth is wrong?"

He was teasing me because Disney was incorrect, but I think I won because he knew how the ride went...and the correct name :lmao:

Great update! Old Key West looks so pretty and as I said before, I'd probably be able to talk John into staying there if they just had a beach. Yuck on the rain storm but at least it didn't stop you two from meeting up with Mary and Jeff. I remember reading your review of Tangerine Cafe on your dining report (which I hardly ever posted on :sad2: but I did read). We've never tried it and it's pretty far down on our list of counter service eateries to try.

sorry you had a rainy night at Epcot, but looks like you made the best of it!

Stay away NEVER, you are stuck with me. So they both want to do EE but only Av wants to do Dinosaur. Cay said "it scares the life out of me"

I was happy to hang out with you guys at Epcot. The rain was a bit of a damper )ha ha) but not bad. Jeff will always want another beer :rolleyes1 I was hoping the Tangerine Cafe would be better. They had some yummy things but they were not paired together. Oh well, the school bread and slushie made up for it!

Had a 3-day weekend, so I'm just catching up now. Needless to say, I'm amazed at how many different hats you find to try out!

Glad you finally saw the Nemo show. I have yet to catch that one, so it's good to hear you enjoyed it.

And I'm VERY glad you got at least one Stitch picture! It'd be a shame for you not to see your favorite furry pal. :rotfl:

Okay, I'm finally caught up Kathy.

Glad you liked the Nemo show, we liked it too. It's hard not to take a million pictures, isn't it?!

Question: has Mark ever bought one of those goofy hats?

Great updates!!!!

Your updates put my updates(or lack there of) to shame. :sad2:

Glad you finally saw Nemo! It is an awesome show!!!

I'm loving all the hat pics!!! :lmao:

Glad you had some down time to go swimming and have some down time. :fish:

That green plaid hat on Mark looks good! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
