Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

KatMark, I've seen your name around quite a bit and with your impressive post count I thought I'd take a peak. After reading through your TR (updates only...), I just think you're wonderful. I love that you and Mark are still a couple of kids at DW and I look forward to reading more.

Kathy- Andy seems like a great son. How nice of him to keep the dog company and join Mark in the try every hat in Disney conquest! I can't wait to hear about your MNNSHP!

I think I am all caught up! Loving the updates!

I have to disagree about Tangierine Cafe. I love the place. The rest of my family is in agreement with you. I get the lamb platter and substitute the tabula with marinated olives. I love the bread and hummus that comes with that meal. There is never enough taziki sauce for me though.

It's been a couple years since we've seen the Nemo musical. It looks like an all new cast since then. I love that show, not sure why we don't go and see it more often?

Your meets look like lots of fun. So sweet about Andy and his new friend. His dad's knack for kids must rub off on him. Looks like he is great with kids!

How fun to have Andy arrive!!!

It really was fun to have him with us.

Hi Kathy! I've just got caught up with your report. Have really enjoyed reading along.
DFi and I were there the same time you guys were. We exited One Man's Dream into that storm on Tuesday. Truly was something! We thought it was never going to end for a bit there. Fortunately it stopped in time some DTD time that evening. :)

Thank you for joining in. It stormed for us on Monday. Did it storm at the Studios on Tuesday? It was sunny at Epcot and MK for us that day. :confused3:confused3 Glad you were able to get some DTD time in without the rain.

sounds like Andy is good with kids!
so how long did you wait for the dwarfs? we waited 40 minutes!

Andy is GREAT with kids...always has been (so is his brother). He will make a great dad some day.

You'll have to wait for the next update to see how LONG we waited.

:welcome: and thank you for joining in.

I'm not sure my post count is impressive or if it means I spend way too much time on the DIS. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thank you for the sweet words. Disney is the one time we can just forget all that is going on in our lives and the world, and enjoy life to the fullest. And I think each and every one of us always remains a "kid" to a point.

Tink, I'm not an adventurous eater to begin with (I don't like Mexican, I tolerate Chinese, I don't do Indian or Thai), but I'm glad I gave it a try.

Loved the Nemo musical....you should go back on your next visit.

As I said earlier, both boys are great with kids. I think the fact that they both went into coaching immediately after high school had a lot to do with that. Although the little girls love them too and both of them are good with the girls too (although they will both tell you they ONLY want sons!).

Sorry...somehow you didn't get quoted in my last responses; but you now get your own "personal" response. :goodvibes

Both of our boys are great sons -- and we are very proud of them. He complains about the dog, but he loves her. He and his dad were a hoot with some of the hats.

Kathy, I swear I'm still here! They upgraded our firewall on the work computer so now I can't see ANY images at all and the layout of the site is all messed up so it's basically impossible for me to read anything from here.

I promise to catch up from home ASAP

CAN YOU PLEASE STOP WITH THE UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao:

What a great AM in Epcot! You guys were hitting everything! Good call on going back to see if the Land was open!

Isn't Turtle Talk awesome? Juliana has had a few chances to ask Crush questions.

Love the PP pics in front of Epcot with Andy!

That was a great shirt Andy found for MNSSHP!

The girls look so cute in their costumes!!!!! How funny Andy was egging them on. :goodvibes

Of course, we had to stop at a shop on our way to lunch for Mark to try on a hat:

Day4109.jpg
:scared1: :scared1: Mark scalped Chewbacca! :lmao:

Great pictures of the AK shows and EPCOT... I guess I got a few updates behind. I was sitting here looking at your EPCOT pictures and it was getting me really excited about our trip. I can't wait to go see Figment, even though his new ride is nowhere near as good as the original. I still love that purple, uh, thing.:confused3

Man, you are an updating machine!

Today would be the day Andy is arriving.

:woohoo:

Seems there was some sort of malfunction and the ENTIRE building was shut down. No Soarin', no The Land, no Sunshine Seasons. They had NO idea when it was going to be open and suggested coming back later.

:headache:

We decided to take our chances and see if Soarin' was up and running or IF the building was even open yet. We arrived and found that it was.

That's better. And you got Test Track and MS out of the way, too!

We then strolled over to see one of my favorites:

Journey Into Imagination? Did you have to get a FastPass? :rotfl2:

After seeing my purple friend, we headed over to Mark's FAVORITE:

Day5029.jpg

I can tell, he looks so thrilled! :rotfl:

What a TERRIFIC show. I am so glad we saw it and can't wait to see it again. The interaction with the kids was terrific.

Turtle Talk is awesome! So glad you enjoyed it. I'm still amazed at the technology there.

As much as my kids aggravate me at times (I guess, in reality, that I cannot call them kids since they are both adults now), they are both good kids and make us very proud.

Sounds like about all you can ask for. Besides, parents NEVER aggravate their kids.

After we did SE, we headed towards Journey as Andy wanted to do Captain EO with his dad. I told them to go ahead without me and I would check office voice mails, check in with my mom, etc.

I took some pictures of the fountains and the dancing water while I waited:

Good call on Captain EO. :rolleyes1 (no flames!)

I think the fountains are my family's favorite part of the Imagination Pavilion!

We exited the attraction, and Mark decided he wanted to play. Andy looked at me as if to say, "What is dad doing?" I said "what he always does at Disney World...he acts like a kid."

Sounds like a candidate for the DIS Dads Club! :thumbsup2

Andy looked right back at her and as seriously as he could said: "No smiling, $5." Cayley didn't have a clue. He repeated, "No smiling, $5." He told her that everytime she smiled she had to pay him $5. It was hysterical. Cayley eventually thought it was funny and would do it on purpose. And that point, we knew she had a crush on Andy. And, of course, it made Andy just continue to egg her on. It went from "No smiling, $5" to "No smiling, no laughing, no chocolate cake--$5.00."

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Andy is officially cool.

Oh no on The Land being shut :headache: I'm glad it opened later and you were able to ride with minimal wait times.

Sounds like a great day at Epcot! We loved the Turtle Talk with Crush show as well.

Yay on Andy arriving and getting some PP pics. Looking forward to hearing about MNSSHP :goodvibes

Sounds like a lovely day! Woo hoo on Andy arriving! Love it! The Figment hat picture of Andy and Mark is too cute!!!

OK Kathy, I've been back from my cruise long enough. I'm (mostly) caught up on work. I'm about to head out on a marathon and plow thorough your TR and get all caught up!

If you don't hear from me by this evening, send in a rescue squad.

And make sure they have pie.

:surfweb:

...and I'm back! I don't think I've ever done that much at Disney is so little time. Of course, I did it while sitting in my office, so that kind of sucks....:lmao:

Since I'm not crazy enough to go back and multiquote the last dozen or so updates, I figured I'd take this time to say that while I love going to Disney with my kids, I'm really looking forward to the times that just Bambi and I get to wander around by ourselves, doing what we want to do and acting like kids.

Andy's pretty luck to have parents like you guys! :thumbsup2

The awful mission thing...that is exactly how I feel about that foolish ride :rotfl: I made Tim go on that one alone for sure!

Boo to Soarin and the land building being closed when you first arrived, but it sounds like it worked out well when you returned :thumbsup2

YAY for Andy!!! Great pictures of you 3 in front of EPCOT :goodvibes

Sounds like a wonderful dinner and I am very excited to read about your MNSSHP!!

How did I miss the Andy arrival update? Woo hoo :cool1: He looks so happy to be there What great pictures of the three of you and if Andy and the girls. How did you like Olivia's? I guess I should read your dining review! :laughing:Those girls - they are just so darn cute!!!!!:goodvibes

oh - what a great morning at Epcot. Too bad Soarin was down first thing in the morning.

Thanks, Ali. I think everyone is just so busy with the holidays coming up, so I want to get this TR done. I know you are still here.

CAN YOU PLEASE STOP WITH THE UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao:

Tim, I have to do what you don't do regularly -- update! :lmao::lmao: Seriouslly, I just want to get it done with the holidays and then I was requested to do a PTR for the January trip.

We did very well in Epcot in the a.m.; we got everything done but Unimverse of Energy.

Turtle Talk was absolutely awesome...and I really want to go again in January.

I was happy with the photopass pic with Andy.

Andy wears that shirt all the time...he really likes it.

The girls looked beautiful. Andy can be such a "child."

:scared1: :scared1: Mark scalped Chewbacca! :lmao:

Andy that was funny!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks. I agree...Figment will NEVER be as good as the first one (but at least this one is better than the middle one). I think he's part dragon???/ :confused3

Man, you are an updating machine!

Trying to show you guys how it is done.

Journey Into Imagination? Did you have to get a FastPass? :rotfl2:

Hey, the purple guy is cute.

I can tell, he looks so thrilled! :rotfl:

That's the first time he has not smiled when standing there. I think he was hot, and we had just gotten off the phone with our youngest son.;)

Turtle Talk is awesome! So glad you enjoyed it. I'm still amazed at the technology there.

Totally agree.

Sounds like about all you can ask for. Besides, parents NEVER aggravate their kids.

Absolutely!

I think the fountains are my family's favorite part of the Imagination Pavilion!

I remember our boys could spend hours there.

Sounds like a candidate for the DIS Dads Club! :thumbsup2

I suggest you nominate him, but he NEVER is on the DIS because I always a.m.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Andy is officially cool.

Thank you...I'll tell him you said so.

Oh no on The Land being shut :headache: I'm glad it opened later and you were able to ride with minimal wait times.

Yay on Andy arriving and getting some PP pics. Looking forward to hearing about MNSSHP :goodvibes

It all worked out...I just think they could have done something to compensate.

We were thrilled when he arrived.

Sounds like a lovely day! Woo hoo on Andy arriving! Love it! The Figment hat picture of Andy and Mark is too cute!!!

Thanks, Melissa. It was a great start to the day.

:surfweb:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: As your next post shows, you came back too soon. I was going to offer chocolate chip cookies. If you ask my youngest son, the 23-year old who we dropped on his head Packer fan, I make the best chocolate chip cookies in the country. ;)

...and I'm back! I don't think I've ever done that much at Disney is so little time. Of course, I did it while sitting in my office, so that kind of sucks....:lmao:

Barry, we loved all of our trips with our kids, but it is a totally different experience doing it as two mature adults, who sometimes act like kids, but who also just stop and smell the roses and enjoy watching eyes light up as they first see the castle, etc.

Thank you for saying that about Andy; and you are right.:laughing:

The awful mission thing...that is exactly how I feel about that foolish ride :rotfl: I made Tim go on that one alone for sure!

Boo to Soarin and the land building being closed when you first arrived, but it sounds like it worked out well when you returned :thumbsup2

Did Mission once and that was once too many. :rotfl:

I'm glad it worked out that we could get on Soarin without much of a wait.

I love those pictures of the three of us too (in fact, one of them is my desktop photo now). When his younger brother saw it on Andy's facebook, he posted: "Nice family picture, although the family doesn't seem complete." :lmao::lmao::lmao:

How did I miss the Andy arrival update? Woo hoo :cool1: He looks so happy to be there What great pictures of the three of you and if Andy and the girls. How did you like Olivia's? I guess I should read your dining review! :laughing:Those girls - they are just so darn cute!!!!!:goodvibes

oh - what a great morning at Epcot. Too bad Soarin was down first thing in the morning.

Thankes, MEK. He was happy and had a really good time. Andy and the girls pics turned out really good too. I really liked Olivia's, and we are also trying breakfast in January.

The girls are cute as buttons.

We left off with us finishing dinner and getting ready to head to the MK for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

We drove back to our village and walked to our bus stop less than a minute away. Mary and family were hopping on the bus at the Hospitality House.

We arrived at the MK within minutes of each other. Avery took it upon herself to be in charge of the special map for the evening:

Trick or Treat bag in hand, let's get this show on the road:

Day5105.jpg

Our first order of business? Meeting those 7 Dwarfs. We headed to Splash Mountain and could not beleive the line already. :headache: Jeff and Andy took the girls on Big Thunder while Mary, Mark and I waited in line for the 7 guys:

We were joined in line by Stephanie and her husband Allan and daughter Lilian. The three girls "patiently" waiting to see the 7 Dwarfs:

Finally, after a 90-minute wait, it was our turn to see the Seven Dwarfs:

I even got one of the girls:

To be continued...

You are on an updating roll! I think I am finally caught up.

So glad Andy made it safely and he and the girls seem to have really taken to each other. They are so cute all together! And that's exciting that you got to meet Stephanie and family, too.

But 90 minutes? :scared1: That is a long wait. Ours was not quite that bad!!! The dwarves were fun, though, I hope you enjoyed meeting them too!

Love the pix of the 7 Dwarfs !!!v I missed that when we went to the Halloween Party 2 years ago!!!:sad2:
