Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

All caught up again, Kathy!

Had a busy weekend and fell three pages behind.
I love your early morning at OKW and the AK shots ..... so pretty. And :woohoo: good for you to take your time to take in that queue line at EE. Did you find the hidden Mickeys?

LOL, you can ride it in January, more power to you! My problem isn't the hills or the backwards. I can't stand the restraints on coasters anymore. I feel all trapped. So stopped riding them. Kind of like the feeling in a closed MRI.

we had a great trip, thank you! I have posted about 300+ pictures on my PTR and Castaway Cay should be coming up tonight...it will all be there when you have some free time to stop by! Loving your TR as usual!!

I'm catching up and starting way back at your DTD day 2 & meet up at the pool.

I love that photo with all the cinderella dolls stacked up. Wonder how often they have to change the dolls to keep them from melting in the FL heat!
those giant mickey rice krispy treats look awesome. i had my first one last trip and really think it will be a staple for future visits!

The pool looks nice at AKL -is that the main pool or the one by Kidani?

do you think love bugs are more of a problem at AKL because of the animals or jsut because it was FL and really freakin hot?

Mickeystoon --- when I am way behind (like this!!!) I open notepad & make comments as I read instead of doing a million quotes!

MaryAZ _ your kids are so sweet! looks like they had a blast!

YAY YAY YAY YAY for a bonus girls trip! You will have so much fun! (how can you not!?) and definitely a great way to celebrate your 5 year mark!

Yes, we made it and only had about a ten minute wait until we were called if I remember correctly. Aren't Mary's girls precious? They had so many matching outfits -- way too cute. That is one of the things I missed about not having girls...dressing them.

if you have luck like mine, dressing girls is not always fun. Somehow I have a girl who came out a Diva. Only super soft fabrics, no lace, no crinoline, nothing "scratchy" only certain colors, ---forget picking out clothes for my girl! I have given in already and figure if its weather appropriate and covers all the key areas I usually let it slide.

We have already had a change-a resort one. Since OKW has 2 beds in their studios it seemed like a better choice. Kathy and Mark enjoyed their time there and it will be a first for us. And that way no one is sstuck on the couch for five nights. Now we need to start thinking about dining!!

feed back on the studio pull outs??? I really want to do beachclub and we MAY have 4 people not two so we are wondering how the pull out is & if we sould bring a good air mattress???

Always go left! The DIS strikes again.
You might think that's water coming out of his nose, but it's snot.
I confess -- i giggled at this at work. I love the jungle cruise! I think that Adventureland may indeed be my favorite land in the kingdom. But I will have to go a few more times to confirm that!!

OKW lobby looks gorgeous! I love the balloon welcome. I'm curious to read travel times from OKW to the parks.
are the beds in the studio queen or double? they look small

OMG ROFLOL:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: "I think I have most my mind and I need to go find it....."

Country bears -- we have decided we can do this every two or three trips, but not an every trip sort of attraction!

I love this pumpkin photo and you don't look tired at all!

Good luck car shopping Kathy! blech!
Oh I am so close but really have work to do so have to stop at page 45 ....hopefully i will finish tonight!!

The pool looks nice at AKL -is that the main pool or the one by Kidani?

It was the Kidani pool. I like it better than the one at Jambo.
do you think love bugs are more of a problem at AKL because of the animals or jsut because it was FL and really freakin hot?

I think they were bad all over

MaryAZ _ your kids are so sweet! looks like they had a blast!

Thanks so much, they did and can;t wait to go back

We are soooo excited to go back and celebrate with Ms Kathy. I was showing the girls some pics on my TR and they saw the pic on Ms Kathy's avator. Almost saw the ticker but i scrolled quick!

This is very true. thank goodnes for uniforms. Avery is finally venturing into jeans but both girls are very picky about soft-no scratchy etc

feed back on the studio pull outs??? I really want to do beachclub and we MAY have 4 people not two so we are wondering how the pull out is & if we sould bring a good air mattress???

I think it depends on who is sleeping there. The kids were fine at SS and AKV. My 6 foot hubby did not fit so well. I think it was ok just depends on how long etc

I can't believe it! I was only one update post behind! :thumbsup2

I love the early morning pics at AK. Was it an EMH morning? Or just not crowded because you made rope drop??

The yeti stocking cap is GREAT!! :thumbsup2

No, I didn't find the Hidden Mickeys; I tend to forget to look for them. :sad2:

I don't mnd the restraints...it's the backwards that kills me every time.

I will get to your PTR tomorrow or Thursday for sure. I'm glad you are enjoying my TR.

The pool looks nice at AKL -is that the main pool or the one by Kidani?

It was the Kidani poo; we never got to the Jampo pool.

do you think love bugs are more of a problem at AKL because of the animals or jsut because it was FL and really freakin hot?

No, we had the lovebugs really, really bad one year at the Coronado; it's a Florida thing.

That banana picture is hysterical!!!

It most certainly easy.

YAY YAY YAY YAY for a bonus girls trip! You will have so much fun! (how can you not!?) and definitely a great way to celebrate your 5 year mark!

Thanks; I am getting giddy over the trip.

The Captain is such a wit, isn't he?

The beds are queen size; the ride to Epcot and the Studios was short; I think the MK was aobut 15 or 18 minutes.

I about split my britches when I first started laughing after she said that and t hen calmed down so she could "talk" with her dad.

Thanks; I was really exhausted, but I couldn't resist having that pic taken.

No worries...you did really good getting as far as you did.

Yes, I've been busy updating my dining reviews and helping the gal who took over the CSR thread, so this has suffered. But I'm going to try to do an update now if I can stay awake (up late watching the Bears/Eagles game last night).

Yes, it was an EMH morning...we try to do them at every park when we are there and offered.

So we had ridden EE and got a Yeti hat photo.

We slowly made our way to Africa where we were meeting a former employee of our "home away from home" -- the CSR who now works in the offices at AK. A few pictures along the way:

After meeting with our friend, Shannon, we went over to the Safari Coffee Animal Kingdom Kiosk and I had a cappucino, Mark had a water and we shared a cinnamon roll.

From there it was time to take a safari:

Day4033.jpg

The wait time was 15 minutes, but it was about 40 minutes before we got in our vehicle because of animals in the "road". Once in our vehicle, I attempted a few pictures but didn't do as well as previous years as I was in the middle:

You got some god pictures for being in the middle. I was in the middle in Aug...and using my point and shoot camera as well, which I'm not used to and got some terrible pictures!

Gorgeous shot!

This is a really creative picture Kat, the sunlight is just streaming down all over Mark!:thumbsup2 He looks like an angel.:goodvibes

Go Mark, go Mark, go Mark!:cool1: It looks like he's singing too!

Ugh, don't ya just hate traffic on the Serengeti?

Somehow I imagine Marv will stop by with an off color remark here...:rolleyes1

Great safari pics too, I see your beloved giraffes made an appearance as well.:thumbsup2

Looking forward to Camp Minnie Mickey.:goodvibes And I'm impressed that you stayed up so late to do this update.:thumbsup2 Have a great day Kathy.

You got great pictures of the safari!! When I sit in the middle my pics are mostly people's heads and animals in between.

more great photos! even the hippo tush :lmao:
looks like Mark has a new career path being a drummer!

Missing your last update due to no pictures, but I'll be back!!!!!

I think your safari pictures came out good even if you were sitting in the middle. It's hard to get good pictures anyway with the truck bouncing all around.

Great pictures! I like the one's of Mark playing the drums! :thumbsup2

When you do AM EMH at a park, do you stay the day there or hop around? I feel some tinkering coming up... :rotfl:

Nice Safari pics!:thumbsup2

Thanks, Doreen.

The only camera I have is a point and shoot; it worked great when we were at the Lodge and not in a moving vehicle. ;)

Gorgeous shot!

This is a really creative picture Kat, the sunlight is just streaming down all over Mark!:thumbsup2 He looks like an angel.:goodvibes

Molly, I'll tell him you said so and perhaps he'll forget about that Dumbo comment. ;)

Go Mark, go Mark, go Mark!:cool1: It looks like he's singing too!

I believe he was singing...or grunting. :lmao::lmao:

Ugh, don't ya just hate traffic on the Serengeti?

Really....don't they know we have a timetable to keep to?

Somehow I imagine Marv will stop by with an off color remark here...:rolleyes1

I don't think Marv loves me anymore. :sad1:

Great safari pics too, I see your beloved giraffes made an appearance as well.:thumbsup2

NEVER ever miss an opportunity to take a picture of a giraffe.

Looking forward to Camp Minnie Mickey.:goodvibes And I'm impressed that you stayed up so late to do this update.:thumbsup2 Have a great day Kathy.

I felt like putting toothpicks in my eyes as it was getting harder and harder to stay awake. I'm off on Friday and hoping to get a lot of DIS'ing done then.

You got great pictures of the safari!! When I sit in the middle my pics are mostly people's heads and animals in between.

That's usually what happens to me too; but I sat on my backpack and it made me a tad taller. ;)

more great photos! even the hippo tush :lmao:
looks like Mark has a new career path being a drummer!

Love the hippo tush.

I think we'll keep Mark in the career he is in...we might then be able to retire sooner rather than later.

Missing your last update due to no pictures, but I'll be back!!!!!

Any time you are ready to come back, MEK.

Love this picture! Great shot.

Thanks, Mark; I think it turned out pretty cool too.

If only they'd get rid of those dumb animals, the safari would move a lot quicker. :rotfl:

So the lion was sleeping? I'm shocked! :rotfl2:

They should changethe song from "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" to "This Lion Sleeps 24/7!" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think your safari pictures came out good even if you were sitting in the middle. It's hard to get good pictures anyway with the truck bouncing all around.

That is true...it is hard to get pics when bouncing; and we always seem to get the driver who does NOT want to stop for 10 seconds so we can get pictures. :confused3

Great pictures! I like the one's of Mark playing the drums! :thumbsup2

When you do AM EMH at a park, do you stay the day there or hop around? I feel some tinkering coming up... :rotfl:

Hey, Amy...thanks!

Usually, we do the EMH's at the park in the morning where offered and then go to another park. Here's an example of what we usually do:

1) AK EMH's in the a.m., then Epcot in the afternoon/evening
2) Epcot EMH's in the a.m., then MK in the evening
3) Studios EMH's in the a.m, then Epcot in the afternoon/evening

The day of EMH's in the a.m. at the MK is usually the day we leave so we just hang there until time to go.

Wonderful safari pictures!! It sounds like a nice day at AK!!
