Has anyone contacted Chase about upping the credit limit on a Disney Visa Card? I only have about $300.00 charged on it (booked the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party), with a $3600.00 limit. I want to see if I can get the limit raised to about $10,000.00 so I can put our whole friends and family trip on it. That way there will be nothing but our trip expenses on it so, there will be good record of where everyone's money went. Not that they will be all worried up over it, but I would just prefer to have it all right "there". Plus the reward dollars are a definite plus!! :thumbsup2

Assuming you have good standing with them, it's easy.

Another option (which is what I did as they were offering me an absolutely obscene amount of credit) - if you have more than one Chase card, you can lower one while raising the other. Or make them even, or whatever.

When I called to do it, they told me that sometimes they can't raise the limit over the phone immediately, but they can always adjust it if you have more than one card.

I have found a credit limit is meaningless. I had mine set low since I added my son so the card would cut off when he reached the limit. No such thing ever happened. He kept going over the credit limit and I kept calling visa to complain and they said there is some no preset limit. After several months of complaining I realized they will always allow the spending to go over the limit. Soon I will cancel the card. I'm fed up with thrm.

Every CC will allow you to spend past the limit to a certain degree. Then they ding you for over-the-limit fees. It's not just Chase that plays this game.

How long have you had the card? If you've had it less than 6 months, it can be difficult to get the limit raised.

I have also done it over the phone. I only had 8k limit and I wanted to put both of our rooms for our cruise on it so I could get the extra OBC for both rooms. They didn't even run my credit. Said I had already had a pre-approved limit increase on my account for up to 15k. Took all of 2 seconds. If your credit is good, you should be able to get it relatively easily. Good luck OP.

Just a heads up they do run your credit score when inquiring about a credit limit increase. It's still simple and done easily over the phone. They will verify your income, own/rent, occupation etc. And give you the result right away.

This is exactly what they did for me.

Called up as a very new member(1-2 months) and at first they were like well new member and all.

Then said hey you have this chase account. 5 years old, never used once except for 0% deal. I had cut the card when I got it and paid it off before 0% was done. Forgot even had it.

He said cancel that one and add limit to Disney card. YES YES YES

One year later and about to pay my DVC dues again with rewards($700 per year) and never paid 1 cent in interest.

Wish we got this card years ago.

LOVE IT!

PS wife got one for her business use and just bought our 4 day park passes(3) and has some left over for a Disney purse.

WIN WIN! LOL
