Any advice for properly and efficiently uploading passports at check-in to avoid problems (size of file, type of file, etc.)? I will be checking in 13 people in four cabins.

I think some people had success using a scanner from their printer.
I personally tried to anchor the top and bottom down at the spine with books or picture frames to make it very flat and find a spot with good light that doesn't give a glare (and do it with my phone through the app)

I took pictures of all the passports and headshots the day before so I had them all in my photo library on my phone to easily attach when checking in through the app. It was a bit slow on the upload for the 5 of us at midnight due to all the traffic of everyone trying to do the same thing. I ended up with 11 am port arrival time. It took me about 20 minutes to get it all done so I’d expect it will take you at least an hour. If the different cabins are putting different credit cards on file for each room make sure you have that data otherwise you can’t completely check in and select a port arrival time.

I also recommend writing down the passport numbers and expiration on a separate sheet of paper so that you can quickly access it

We have our check-in coming up in about a week. So does everyone recommend doing the whole process through the app on your phone
rather than on a laptop through the website?

Trying on phone just hours ago but had to use iPad since window never opened.
Tried iPad next, got one person in not second person so signed out and finally completed on laptop. Continuing circling screen won’t move to download photos I think.

Also, are you allowed to go back and change things later? For example, can you revise your payment method, hotel, airlilne arrangements, in case something changes, or if you find out you input something incorrectly?

Yes.

Last time we cruised we had two rooms so two reservations. I did the first one on my laptop and the second one from my phone. It was significantly faster and easier from the phone.

If you have a printer/scanner available, I liked using the scanner because the passport is perfectly flat. Holding a passport open for a photo wasn't easy for me.

I scanned to JPG format.

Checked my family of 3 in last night for our May cruise. Be prepared for the slow wheel of doom no matter which method you use. I had taken pictures of passports and head shots on my phone and also downloaded them on laptop and both were slow.

Silly question, sorry--do they want a picture of both pages of the passport (e.g., including the signature page) or just the page with the photo and data, or doesn't it matter?
