Hi!

I'd like to know if the cm can drop the first and last day for the UPH? I don't have the time to go the park on the day we leave. Can they do that or they can only drop the first or the last? And also how much is the UPH for 5 days and also for 6 days. We will not be in Disney for 9 nights. We are also doing Universal as well. Thanks for your help.

And...do you think we are better off getting the PH for 4 or 5 days vs. UPH? I doubt if we are doing the water parks or the Disney Quest or World Wide of Sports. Thanks for your advice.

The Unlimited Park Hopper has also been called the Length of Stay pass. You shouldn't have any trouble dropping the arrival OR departure day, but I don't think you can do both. Less the one dropped day, the UPH has to mirror the same days as your hotel reservation.

If you aren't going to visit any of the PLUS parks, the UPH will be a waste of money anyway. Compare the prices and you'll see. You pay a substantial premium for the "unlimited" access that the UPH brings.

Unless you're really going to get your money's worth of out the UPH, a better way to go is typically the Park Hopper. The Park Hoppers don't expire, meaning if you get a 4 day pass and only end up using 3 days, you can always keep use the remaining day on a future trip.

Hi Fantasia, Haven't "talked" to you in a long time.

Well, to answer some of your questions and to give you my opinon, I'll tell you my experience.

I always get the UPH and always drop both my arrival day and my departure day. The reason I like the UPH is the flexibility, but the real reason I like it is because it is on the same card as my room key, therefore one less piece of paper to worry about and keep track of.

Even though it is a little bit more, it's worth it to me. Last year, my seven year old wanted to carry his own pass to the parks. Well, he lost it. Thank goodness it was part of our room key, because they cancel it immediately just like a credit card and replace it no problem. If he had lost a paper ticket, we probably would have been out of luck. I know you have a six year old, and he may want to be like an "adult" and carry his own pass also.

So, there you have it. I have found on these boards, most people recommend getting a traditional Park Hopper because it is more economical.

Thanks tjkraz and pnelson (I know...long time no see!)

Still kind of debating here which passes I should get. So the PH passes will not be tied to the resort room card and the UPH does?

pnelson...so the cm were able to remove the first AND the last day of the UPH without any problem? I just need to find out cause I would like to buy my passes at the DS and save some money if I am going with the PH...if not...then I will buy the UPH when I check in.

Thanks again!

But if you purchase them at resort checkin rather than in advance, they can be put on your resort ID so you only have one card to carry. Any unused days will continue to be good on the resort ID when you come back in the future.

I think that was an effect of the CM's lack of knowledge or lack of ambition. ;)

When you buy your UPH's at check-in, the CM is able to tailor them any way you want including dropping both days. Whether they are willing to do it is another thing entirely.

I think what Golden Oldie said is exactly right. The castmember can drop both days, but some are under the impression that they can not, so they won't. I didn't know the Park Hopper can be put on your room key-I might have to look into that now. I really, really, like my park pass to be on my room key as well as my credit card so I only have to have one card when traveling around the world.

I think the ultimate park hopper is the best if you plan on doing everything it includes--parks, waterparks, DQ, PI. If you dont plan on doing those things then I would take a php and that way you can use you extra days next time you go. Or even if you use all you days you may use the plus options on your next visit.

I was told by a CM to copy the back of my tickets incase this happened. I leave a photocopy at the hotel and a copy with someone back home so I can call from the park for the numbers (and a fax copy) if needed. o.k., I'm paranoid, but than maybe that is why I haven't needed it:p

Thanks guys so much for all your help.

The other thing to consider is if you are going to take in any non-Disney attractions while you're staying at a Disney resort. If you take a day for Universal, Sea World, or the Space Coast, with the Ultimate Hopper you've paid for a day you aren't using.

You can get a discount for buying Hopper passes in advance, so that's a point aganist buying them at your resort when you arrive.
