We (fiancee and I, staying offsite) each have 5 day MYW base tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist for a total of $617.98 (going for $724.20 today after the rate increase; these are for a "regular tier" trip in October). I would like to upgrade these to include the park hopper option, a going price of $871.18 after the price increase (not interested in adding any days - just want the park hopper added on). My question is: what am I going to have to pay to upgrade them? Because they're purchased through a third party, I will unfortunately have to upgrade them in person at a Guest Relations location once we arrive in Orlando and waste valuable Disney time
. I forsee two options here and aren't sure if they will result in paying different amounts to upgrade.
Option 1: We are arriving the 9th and will (hopefully) have an ADR at the Contemporary that night. I believe if you're adding days (which we do not plan to do) before you have used any of your days on third party tickets, you pay the difference between what you paid for your current tickets and the price THAT DAY of what you're wanting to upgrade to. Does that also apply for adding the park hopper option? I.e. would I be paying A. $253.20 ($871.18-617.98) or B. just $146.98 ($871.18-724.20)?
Option 2 (if the answer to Option 1 is A.): I believe when you're adding days to a third party ticket, if you use your ticket to enter a park BEFORE attempting to upgrade, you only have to pay the difference between the current going rate for what your tickets currently are (5 day MYW base for us, $724.20) and the current going rate for what you want to upgrade to (5 day MYW park hopper for us, $871.18). So, if on our first day in the parks (Oct 10th) we go to a single park (since we will just have base tickets) until ~7PM and then leave to go to the Poly for dinner and upgrade the tickets at a guest relations center there, will I only be paying $146.98?
Also, will any of this affect any FP+ selections I have made?
