Hi all,

I hope someone can help me with this. We have booked a package to go in March, direct with disney for 4 days and 3 nights for the price of 3 days and 2 nights. Our disney park tickets are included in our package. We are also now toying with the idea of going again next christmas (xmas 08, I know its far in advance but with 3 kids we plan our holidays early to save up!). Can we upgrade our passes to annual passes while we are there and how much does it cost, or are you not allowed to do that as they are part of a package?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

As your tickets are included in your Disney package this time round, they have no individual monetary value, so you cannot upgrade them to AP's. You can, however, buy your AP's as soon as you get to DLP this time, and then straightaway you can enjoy the discounts etc you are entitled to on restaurant bills and shopping, depending on which AP you buy.

I'm doing that in October - I already have park tickets included in my package with Disney, but I'll be buying my Dream APs on my first day there.

Hopper tickets especially, fetch a good price on Ebay, obviously will depend on the dates on the passes you're given but ours have always been valid for a few weeks after the holiday date. You should get back enough to pay for your AP's.
Even when you could redeem package tickets against AP's no-one ever reported getting more than 1 day discounted.
It's something I'm considering doing next trip. :)

Don't forget the parrainage (sponsorship) scheme too for extra discount or if your kids are under 7 you may still benefit from free Dream passes for them, not sure when the promotion has been extended to, although someone else will know, I'm sure.

As Jill said you cannot upgrade package tickets but you may be able to take advantage of the francilien passes which cannot be used on 2nd and 3rd day after purchase. They are the cheapest annual passes to buy but do have more blackout days.
The child free offer so far has been extended until early Jan but it originally was only till end Sep. You never know they may extend it further :goodvibes

You may not get your park tickets before you check into your hotel though, if you've booked a package including tickets. My park hopper tickets, included in my package, were valid only for the length of my stay, and said so on them. I also didn't get them until the day we checked into our Disney hotel.
