Upgrading to a magic key

Hi all, currently at the parks for day 2 of my 2 day PH. I want to upgrade my tickets to a magic key and I know I can do so in the app. My question is - if I've already scanned into the park can I upgrade right away and not lose my reservation for the day? I dont have any other reservations so im not worried about losing future reservations. But I can't find an answer on if I lose my current reservation for today once I upgrade.

Thanks for any help! I dont wanna wait in line at the ticket booth for my question if I dont have too, especially since you have to upgrade in the app.

You might lose your reservation for the day when you upgrade so wait until the end of the day when you are not going to be entering either park anymore. Most people do lose their reservations.

Thanks for the response! I was hoping to be able to use the discount for shopping. So I guess I'll hold off on shopping until tonight.
