We have 4 day hopper + tickets(bought in Oct 2004), can we trade them in for a 5 or 6 day MYW tickets? How do we know the cost before we get to DW? I have called DW Tickets and Res and couldn't get a direct answer. Told me to come toGuest Relations when we arrive.

Thanks ahead for any info!!!

Trading in the 4 day hopper for a 6 day MYW pass is better than using the hopper as is and buying a 2 day MYW (cost you about $128. more without hopping, $165. more with hopping).

But even that is only a fair deal. According to the rules you must get non-expiration and hopping for the MYW on a trade up because all the features of the old pass have to be on the new pass. Since you mentioned 6 days, it looks to me as if you don't need non-expiration.

Want to look ahead to yet another trip and buy 10 day non-expiring MYW passes now? Deal wise this is better. With 10 day non-expiring passes it does not make any difference whether you use the old hoppers first.

What was the price of your 4 day hopper, not counting advance purchase discounts? A 6 day non-expiring MYW with hopping costs $294. You pay the difference when trading up. I have an old price list (2002?) showing 4 day hoppers for $188. including tax. The trade for a 6 day MYW would cost about $106.

On 2/5 we traded our 5 day hopper + tickets for 6 day MYW tics with the hopping feature. We paid $260/ea for the old tickets at Ticketmania last year. Disney gave us a credit of $248.27 for the old hoppers and charged us $293.96 for the new ones. We did not have to buy the non expire feature and would not have had to buy the hopping feature but we wanted it. We made our exchange at guest relations at the Wilderness Lodge.

/Sorry you couldn't get a direct answer... that is because there are many variables that go into the answer.

Is the ticket used, or not?

If not, then they should be able to upgrade them to your choice of ticket without problem and you will pay the difference, or receive the difference back, if your new tickets are less.

If so, they will take the cost of the ticket and divide it by the number of days on it, to get the per day price, multiply that by the number of days you have left and apply that amount toward the purchase of your new tickets and you pay the difference.

If you have your receipt of what you paid for the ticket, you should be able to get a ball park figure, if you know the amount of days left or if you haven't used them at all.

If you don't know how many days are left, the only thing you can do is wait until you get to the parks and have the Guest Relations castmembers read them for you and let you know.

Tickets cannot be read over the phone. This is to ascertain that the information you are given is correct and correctly understood, and the only way to do that is to actually scan the ticket.

Only one old ticket may be used toward the purchase of any one new ticket.

SeashoreCM has given you very good advice!!!! :earsgirl:

Hope that helps!:)

$293.96 for a 6 day MYW with hopping also includes the non-expiration.

I apologize, I left out that we also had the plus feature. So, with the base ticket, hopper and plus features the cost was $293.96. If I understand correctly, adding the non expire feature would have added another $47.93.

Now THAT'S what I want to hear!!! :cool1: I have TWO adult and ONE child 5-day hopper passes (bought on Disney.com last year, NOT USED). We want to upgrade to 7 day passes WITH hopping option WITHOUT expiration option. Glad to see that this can be done!! Thanks for posting this information!!
