If you changed when the promo was still going on, then maybe you could have. If you change now, yes, you will lose
free dining. The promo has ended, so it can no longer be booked.
There is a discount ot now, and depending on your family make up, it might be a worse deal or nearly the same deal. From what I've seen it's about $15 of values, $40 off mods (not a better deal), and $74 off deluxe rooms (might be a better deal if only two people.)
The number of rooms with the new deal are getting fairly limited. Pop is not available. Savannah view at AKL was at last check.
On the flip side, we tried Pop last year during free dining and had a blast! I'm normally a moderate or deluxe person myself, but I've stayed at nearly all the mods now, and have at least had a meal at all of them. So Pop was almost the only resort we'd nbever seen before. It's a very cute resort. It's no GF, but it isn't supposed to be. It is well worth walking around though. The pool has no slide, but tis' still kind of cute. the kiddie pool is cute, and there's a water play area for little kids. The food court is pretty diverse.It has a selection of food items that are unique to Pop. Including frozen Coke and apple juice in the drink fountains (so if you get a refillable mug you can get as much of either as you please. There is also an adult beverage station near the pool that will make the same cocktails as any other pool bar on property.
I think Pop has much going for it. Overall, we found the busing to be better than most other resorts, including many of the deluxes. YC/BC/BWK have great access to HS and Epcot, but share busing to the other parks. Pop has only one stop, and the buses were very frequent. The only time the wait got kind of long was leaving a park right at a peak closing time. And really, the wait leaving MK wasn't bad, it was just Epcot that was long.
Ifyou've got young kids, they'll probably love it. If you are like us, and spend most of your day ina park, it is fine.
If you are really of the mind that you'll hate it, then consider changing. AS youcan tell formmy post, I did look at other rooms....but we booked a bounce back offer last year, and we're headed back to Pop!
there is a room only discount, and with deluxe resorts and up this is normally a better savings then free dining.
I was not about to lose our free dining!!
