Upgrading promotional military ticket

I have read several posts about upgrading 3 day tickets to AP for a small fee, around $9. Has anyone done this with the Buy 1 day get 2 free military tickets?

I have no idea if you could do this with promotional tickets.

I can tell you that upgrading a three day-two park ticket costs about $98 not $9. I did this last month with my daughter's ticket.

Where are you finding this ticket? I don't see it on the email I got from MWR.

It is listed on the ITT price list for multiple bases and on the Universal site if you search for military.

I called and I can definitely upgrade the tickets but they didn't give a price. I think I will try it. If I save some money I will be very appreciative and happy. If not then it was a little inconvenience for nothing.

$98 sounds like about the price to upgrade to the Preferred Pass with Free Parking. About $9 is the price to upgrade to a Power Pass without free parking and Blackout Dates.

As near as I can tell, the price to upgrade a ticket is the difference between the gate price of what you have and the gate price of what you want. A couple of weeks ago, I upgraded a 4 day Park to Park ticket I bought before the last price increase from Orbitz even money with a Power Pass. There have been several reports of 3 day tickets being upgraded for about $9. There are also reports of the current promotional 2 day + 1 free tickets being more expensive to upgrade.

So, my guess is if the Military ticket has a gate price, that's what will be used for upgrade purposes.

Sorry, I ended up buying the 4 day park to park tickets. I believe they were $172 for adults and $162 for kids. I explained the scenario to the lady at ITT and she thought I would have better luck upgrading the 4 day tickets since they were not promotional.

When I upgraded I wasn't charged anything to go from a 4 day park to park ticket to a Power Pass. I used my first but I don't know if it makes a difference or not. I used mine because that day was a blackout day for the Power Pass. I was able to get into the park with the 4 day Park to Park pass then, once I was done park hopping for the day, convert it to a Power Pass.
