Upgrading PH passes to AP

I am a DVC member and it turns out we will be going 2 times within a year. We bought 7 day PH passes at the Disney Store before we knew we were going the second time. Does anyone know if we can upgrade these to the DVC discounted Annual Passes? If so how do they calculate the cost of the upgrade? Has anyone done this successfully?

Go to Guest Services at any of the parks, with your DVC card, before your pass expires, 14 days after first use. We just did it at Christmas before we used the pass without any problem.

The ticket kiosks can do it as well but I would go to guest services.

Cost is the difference between the face value DVC AP and the 7 day PH. Check the DIS ticket page.

I just did this in January when I did the 4/3 deal - package came with a 7 day MYW base ticket - I upgraded to a DVC AP for only $151, plus I was able to use my $200 gift card with my package to pay for it!
Just go to Guest Services at any of the park entrances - I was told here on the DIS to use the pass at least once, this locks in the value of the pass, so that's what I did. Went to DHS, played for a couple of hours, then upgraded my pass before I left the park. Very easy. Don't forget your DVC member card though and your photo ID.

Annual passes are awesome. Hmmm, I think I'll go to MK for a couple of hours... then back to the hotel for a leisurely lunch without worrying about having to go back to the parks... you lucky dawg!!!

I wonder what the effective date of the Annual Pass would be? Would it be the date the PH pass was first used or would it be the date of the upgade? Does anyone have any experience with what date the AP gets to start the year and end the year?

If you are upgrading your ticket, then AP will be effective the date that the ticket was first used (must be done up to 14 days after first use).

To get the best value with 7 day purchased from Cdn Disney Store, just upgrade directly and you'll be credited value of ticket in US funds. It really is a great deal I think.
