Upgrading MYW to AP at AK ticket window

I posted a while ago about upgrading to an AP from a 10 day hopper. As it turns out our schedule has changed and we will be at AK our first morning so plan to upgrade on the way out (we have discounted tickets so just to be on the safe side we will use them first so the original 10 day ticket price isn't raised).

My questions are about doing the upgrade at AK - we originally planned on doing this at DS. Can this process be handled well at the AK ticket window? Should I have all of our family's magic bands when doing so? Do they also sell TIW cards there as well? Guess I'm wondering about any real life experiences in making the switch over.

Thank you - I'm in the thick of final planning now with last minute details before leaving! It seemed so far away once and now unbelievably close!

1. Yes.
2. You must have all GUESTS 18 years and older PRESENT at the time of upgrade to AP.
And, each 18 and older guest needs a legal photo ID.

As to "where" to do the upgrade...
at any given time and date, you can encounter different CMs at each location.
Luck-of-the-draw will determine how easily the upgrade goes.
If the CM you encounter does not offer the correct amount for the upgrade,
nicely ask to speak with a manager, and/or nicely decline the offer and go elsewhere.

Robo addressed the primary question, but to address the TIW one - ticket booths don't sell TIW, only Guest Relations. (A lot of ticket booth CMs barely know what it is - I only know about it from these boards.)

You can do the entire thing - upgrade to APs and buy TIW - at Guest Relations if you'd rather go to only one place. It's up to you.

You want Guest Relations.
