Upgrading luggage allowance

Hi guys!

I've booked a flight-inclusive holiday with Disney. The flights are with Virgin and the luggage allowance per person is 23kg, which isn't enough for us. Do I have to call Disney to upgrade (if I can)? If anyone here has done it, would you be able to tell me the cost of the upgrade please?

The weight allowance for Virgin economy is 2 pieces at max 23kg for each person.

It 2 x 23 kilos per person which is 46 kilos and that is quite a lot of luggage so you shouldnt have to pack lightly.

I thought the 2 * 23Kg = 46 Kg was a very generous allowance.
You must be planning a lot of changes per day

46kg per person and you need to pack lightly?
At Xmas we took 36kg total between 3 of us, 12kg pp. When we go for 25 nights in August we only take 50-55kg total.

Think the OP must have misread the response from Claire L,
We take a case each with another inside each with just our basics to get us by for the first week, then DW tends to buy a lot , and all 6 cases for the 3 of us is just about enough when we return.

we didnt even hit 46kg each and we had a wedding dress and suits in our lugguage when we flew last year!

How long did you say you were planning on going for. Always manage less than 23kg going but need the extra cases of 23kg for the return.

luckily i have 5 childrens allowances to pack otherwise id struggle for space too, we buy so much, we take empty cases too.

We're always way under on the way out but over on the way back lol!! That's why we usually go Premium Economy for the flight home - more luggage allowance and better treatment for the night flight!!

Hi everyone! Yes, I did indeed misread Claire L's reply- I assumed that the allowance would be two cases amounting to 23kg, as 46kg seemed like far too much!! That's fantastic news and I'm sure I'll come nowhere near to reaching the full allowance. Thanks for clearing it up guys!

With Virgin each person is allowed 2 enormous cases total dimensions (length plus breath plus height) of each item of luggage is not to exceed 158cms and no more than 23KG each case. Take out very little with you and plenty of empty suit cases, everyone I talked to bought extra case(s) out there. Second trip we each flew out with one empty case and one full, we filled everything and landed up ditching some old cloths/shoes to make room.
