I booked POFQ for Jan 5th-9th as it was what I could afford at the time.. I know have the money to upgrade.. Will the BRP allow me to upgade to deluxe without a penalty... And has anyone else booked a BRP rate for this time period at a deluxe resort? If so,what was/is your room rate?

Updated today.Well this is just stupid.. I called today to upgrade..IT would have made Disney an extra 500$,but I could not upgrade because my trip is in less than 60 DAys

Actually there are very few rooms available on Jan 7th. (I have been trying to add it to my trip) I have read that others have upgraded without much trouble.

I was able to both upgrade and add days, all at the discounted rate, for our Christmas trip. Did this last weekend with no trouble.

I did ask the CM if I could add to /modify (including upgrade) my reservation when I was booking for this coming Jan using the BRP and the answer was that if it is for the same resort under the same confirmation no, then it could be done within the 60 days, as long as the original booking was 60 d prior to check-in. So, I don't see why you can't get an upgrade unless you want another resort.

You can upgrade based on availability. Changes can be made to a BRP reservation as long as the requested dates are 60 days or more from the date you booked your reservation. Since you're not changing dates, it is allowable.

If the change results in a lower price, there is a $50 change fee. In your case, upgrading increases the price therefore no fee unless you are dropping nights off or something.

As mentioned above, I doubt that there is availability for your dates due to the WDW Marathon though. I would suggest that you check the website for regular rack rates for those dates at the resorts you are interested in first. Or check for a FL rate at those resorts using the FL resident section of the site. If you need a FL zip code to access that section, use 32811 (an Orlando zip.)

If you find availability using either of those methods, then I would call to see if you can change your BRP res. That way you don't waste a phone call to find out that nothing is available. HTH.
