Upgrading from basic ddp to deuxe

Has anyone in the UK dis thought about upgrading from basic to deluxe? I am thinking of it as we could then get starters and go to most of the signature dining options (if I can get them)

Sorry Paula we haven't but i think that it would come down to simple maths,basically is it worth it? As for the Signature restaurants,we have managed to fit these in by eating at some of our favourite off-site restaurants thus freeing up some TS points. Would you eat 3 meals a day? I know that we normally start by having breakfast but as the holiday goes on only DW keeps going & mostly at that point it's just cereal!So it really wouldn't be cost effective for us.Also it's not too dis-similar to the old plan & most people agreed that it was way too much food & that you ended up just ordering food because it was "free"!

I don't think it is worth it, aswell as the cost of upgrading you also will have to pay out more in tips.

It really is a ton of food and after doing the basic DDP a few times we wouldn't even consider the deluxe, to be honest we usually struggle to eat a lunch and then dinner! by the 3rd day we have usually had enough of food. LOL.
We love the DDP as it forces us to eat at disney, if were not on the plan we end up eating of site.

It's all about preference and how much food you are used to eating.

I like the idea of all meals being paid for, as for the days we are going out I can see us using 1 credit for breakfast and another for a late dinner and use the other one to go to a signature resteraunt. I just wanted to know if disney will let you upgrade from free ddp to deluxe ddp without paying the full price

I wouldn't do the DDP at all this year. Last year was great, but since they took the appetizer and the tip out of the equation it isn't worth it - would cost around the same price if not more to do DDP.

You can only upgrade Free DDP to deluxe if you have booked with Disney USA, You can't do it if booked through UK tour operators.

I agree, i would book free DDP but i would no longer pay for it
