Upgrading at check-in

Apologies if this is the wrong board...it is part planning/part DVC. If we book a Tower room at the Contemporary using our DVC points, are we then likely to be able to upgrade for cash at check-in to the 14th floor Concierge? Has anyone done this or know if it's possible?

Concierge is a select building/floor of a deluxe Disney Resort. Typically, the rooms may offer slightly enhanced amenities, and there is a concierge lounge with snacks and drinks served (complimentary) throughout the day. Also, concierge staffs are available to help with pre-trip planning and restaurant priority seatings.

I see you are visiting the Polynesian - here, Hawaii is the concierge longhouse, which benefits from these enhancements.

Near zero, people on the resort board say it's next to impossible to book a 14th floor room at the Contemporary. They only have a few regular, non-suite, rooms and they book fast, normally at rack rate.

I asked a question about upgrading at check in yeterday on the Resorts Board and an ex resort CM said that if there is availability anyone can pay to upgrade at any resort at check-in.
