Upgrading advanced purchase ticket question

DH wants to upgrade his 4 day hopper that he bought in advance for a 5 day. The advance purchase price was $179 for the 4 day. Does anyone know if they'll charge him just the $10 to upgrade or will they go off of the fact that the ticket was $179 and the 5 day bought at the gate is $229 and charge him $50?

I'm not sure. I just upgraded our 4-day hoppers to 5-day and it came out to the $10 price difference per ticket since we did it through AAA in advance. If you purchased your tickets through Disney, try contacting them and asking. Maybe they'll let you do it now (as opposed to at the gate). If you wait until you're there, from what I've read you'll pay the difference between gate price and what you paid for the 4-day ($50). Call or email and ask--maybe you could do it via email, phone, or Disney store before you leave home.
