If you are already booked on a cruise and wish to upgrade to a different cabin, do you get the current rate or the rate of that cabin category when you originally booked?
Just a few days after I originally booked my cruise I changed cabin categories (the price had only gone up by a few hundred) and they gave me the lower price of what that category had been when I first booked.
Today I saw cabin 12000 was released and called to see if I could upgrade but was told I would be charged the prevailing rate, not the rate of a 1 bedroom at the time I originally booked. It's the only 1 bedroom available so it is thousands more now than that category was when I originally booked.
Is this correct and I was given the lower rate previously because it was so close to my original booking date? Or was the agent I spoke with today incorrect and I should try again tomorrow? This is only my second Disney cruise so I don't have much experience with what to expect. Thanks!
