Upgrades during complimentary BCV stays?

Has anybody attempted to get an upgrade from the standard room when staying during their BCV complimentary stays? If so how did you go about getting the upgrade?

I'm not sure about the ability to upgrade. But, remember your stay isn't exactly "free". You took the stay in lieu of $5 per point.

We used our incentive stay at BWI in May. We had a courtyard view which is considered a standard view at BWI. We were perfectly happy with that and did not ask for an upgrade.
