Upgraded to Nikon D750, lens question

Personally, I'm all about the 24-70 f/2.8, but of my primes, 35mm is hands down the best I've used in dark rides. Feels just right. For general travel use, though, I find I'd rather just have a 24-70, and not worry about storing extra lenses unless I need a 70-200. Bulk/bag space tends to be what I gripe about, not weight, but I'm fairly muscular, so don't take that as gospel.

If you’re looking for a wide lens, the Tamron 17-35 f2.8-4 VC gets rave reviews. Tamron also makes a 35-150 f2.8-4, which combined looks to make an excellent travel setup. They are also both small and light for FF zoom lenses.

35mm is super handy for candids. I also had an 85mm which was great for portraits. That's the great thing about primes with their low light ability.
