I was talking to ds a little while ago. He asked me if any of the rides had changed any of their effects/themes since our last visit in 2001? I said I thought Spiderman and Men in Black might have new things to see or do??? Is that right and are there any others?

Was the Jimmy Neutron ride still Hanna Barbara in 2001?

Yes, it was...told him about that one and also Shrek will be new for us too as Shrek was about doing the meet and greet thing but we just missed the ride.

Actually I think he meant had Spiderman or Men in Black ET etc added anything new.

When in 2001 did you go? I know after 9/11 Spidy changed their pre-show and left it changed for a while. I don't know if it ever changed back...

And the MIB cars look a little different. They have walls on the side farthest from the load platform.

It was August time. I also have read that JPRA has new restraints and the drop at DUdley's is not so steep. As a matter of interest - have any of you done the stitch ride in place of alien at that "other" park - is it the same scaryness as far as kids are concerned? (Perhaps I should ask tghat one on the other board....;) )

Stitch does not open at the "other park" until this fall, not even in soft openings yet. I will miss Alien, that was one cool attraction...:sunny:

Shrek, Jimmy, and Mummy will be new to you. (Hitchcock, Hanna-Barbera and Kong closed)

I don't remember when it happened, but Posiedon's Fury was changed entirely to include a new storyline. If you saw the original, don't bother with the new version. It basically sucks.

Dudley got a smoother drop, but the angle didn't change. It can't, considering it goes through a shack at the bottom. Some people seem to think it's more intense anyway now. I think they're dillusional. :P I hear some of the effects were fixed, like the train light. Don't know if they were working when you went or not.

Jurassic Park got a new restraint. There's also a new effect that hadn't been working previously, but I'll let you find that one yourself. You'll get wet. :)

The make-up show was updated to include props & scenes from Van Helsing. They also updated the gag at the end of the show.

They updated the Earthquake pre-show.

The Triceratops Discovery Trail was permanently closed.

I think that's it. All the other rides are the same.

I wonder if the effect you're talking about is the one I'm thinking of. If it is, that effect was one effect that was always hit-or-miss. Usually it wasn't working, but many times it did...

Thanks very much.....Hitchcock wasn't there in the August - I was really disappointed! I particularly liked the shop too.

For me I think The Mummy is the most exciting new one and I'm looking forward to trying out the MIB tips too as that was my other favourite ride.:D
