Upgraded GAD= no magic morning

This was true, at least for me. I posted this on my trip report and someone mentioned that I might want to post it to the main board as a FYI.

I went to get my free ticket and upgrade to a 3-day pass at the ticket windows outside Disneyland entrance. It took a little bit but it got done. I walked to the gate to take advantage of the magic morning and the cast member scanned the ticket, then looked at the back and asked if I was a Disney hotel guest. I said no. She said my ticket didn't have a magic morning so if I wasn't a hotel guest I would have to wait until later to enter. I told her I thought all 3-day tix had a magic morning but she said that they did not have one unless it specifically said so on the back. So I ended up spending an hour walking around downtown Disney while I waited for the parks to open to regular guests.

Anyways, just my experience that I wanted to share with you all, in case you were planning on a magic morning when upgrading your GAD.

Bummer ~ that's too bad and interesting - this is the 1st I've heard of this. Some PHs do not have MM access *military & convention hoppers for example.

Interesting. Seems like it might not have been what they were supposed to do...when using the vouchers to upgrade to an AP they didn't give diminished APs, so why give diminished tickets?

But I don't see anything in the GAD thread about upgrading to a 3 day at all, so this might have been the first time someone here did it!

Wow. This makes me really glad I'm using our gad's for fast passes. I was lucky enough to get in on Last Minute Travel's deal. We got 5 day hoppers for $157. Those went up to $190 I guess this week. This is the first I've seen of someone doing this and posting no magic morning.

Yes, it was a bummer not to get the magic morning. I don't want to rain on anybodys parade but just want everyone to be prepared for the fact that it might happen to you.

Thank you for keeping everyone in the know! I'm sorry you couldn't get in for Magic Morning.

I suppose if in doubt, someone could call Disney and ask about whether you get MM if you upgrade. (And if they say you WILL get Magic Morning, then take names so you can have a better chance of getting results if they change their minds at the gate! )
