Upgraded at BC !

We were so surprised when we checked in at the BC, and were wished a Happy Anniversary, and give a free upgrade!

We had reserved a standard room, but received a water view room, with a full balcony, and a fantastic view!

The BC is my new favorite Disney resort. The pool area is so much better than any other, and the Yachtsman Steak House was fantastic. Also, our favorite park is EPCOT, and to be able to just stroll over was great. And, of course, Jellyrolls is just so much fun! We went there three times in eight days.

I have always tried a new resort, with each vacation, but I think I have found my Disney-Home. The Beach Club is my absolute favorite resort!

Out of curiosity, how did they know it was your anniversary? We're about to stay at the WL for our 5th anniversary, and I noted it when I made the reservation online. Did you do anything beyond that?

Out of curiosity, how did they know it was your anniversary? We're about to stay at the WL for our 5th anniversary, and I noted it when I made the reservation online. Did you do anything beyond that?

When you make reservations, they ask you if you'll be celebrating a special occasion while you're there. If so, they note it on your reservation. There's the possibility that Disney will do something special for you, but no guarantee. It's icing on the cake if that happens, but for me just being there is special enough.

I did have the anniversary noted on the ressie, and I also sent a fax to the BC informing them of our anniversary, and noting a room request. All I was hoping for was a room that faced the woods and not a parking lot. We were just sprinkled with pixie dust!

I have read that the WL does not accept faxes, but I have also read about many upgrades being given there! Why not try to call four days before arrival and ask to speak to the assigner?

Thanks for the info! I'll give them a call tomorrow morning. I should just call the normal reservation number (which was (407) 939-7675 for our reservation) and ask for the room assigner?

We're leaving this Friday, and I think it is just now sinking in. I'm suddenly super excited.

We celebrate our 21st anniversary at the WL next year.
I really want a good view - so we booked a Courtyard, requested upper floor.
So I doubt we will get a pixie dust upgrade.
What would they upgrade too ? Nothing left but CL - and I am sure that is out of range.

I am sending flowers, white zinfandel and wine glasses from the WDW florist to my DH. We will have the kids watch tv/read/gameboy in the room, while DH & I enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony. I am going to find out if WDW florist can get 1/2 splits of wine- the size bottles with a little over 2 cups in them. we do not do more than 1 glass of wine each.

We just returned from WL (we LOVED it)! We were there to celebrate my birthday. We booked through a AAA ta and so it was never noted it was my birthday. My DH, being Prince Charming and all, called WL directly 2 nights before we checked in and told them we'd be celebrating my birthday. We were upgraded to a wonderful courtyard view (room 3025) facing the pool and lake and I received balloons and a card from the staff.
