I am sure this has been asked and answer many times before.......however I just can not seem to find the answers I am looking for.:scared:
We are going in August:teeth: and have purchased a package. We currently have a nine day hopper ticket attached to the package. We would like to upgrade two of the tickets to annual passes. Now for the questions.......
1. Is it possible to upgrade just two of the tickets?
2. If so, when would be the best time to do so?
3. When we do (assuming we can) will it mess up our fast passes?
Thank you in advance for your help:love:

Yes, you can upgrade. I would upgrade after you use the tickets to enter a park in case you got some discount on the ticket as part of a package. They will give you the full price of the ticket if you use it to enter a park prior to the upgrade. You can upgrade at Guest Relations in the park at anytime after you use your ticket (obviously before you use all the days). When we upgraded to APs, we just went to GR the first day of our trip right after we walked through the turnstiles. You don't have to upgrade all the tickets- just doing two is fine. No, it won't affect your FPs.

1. Yes
2. Personally since AP holders get discounts at some restaurants and in some merchandise and activity locations I would do it right away.
3. No, it should not. As with anything there is always a chance, but even if you do nothing at all to your account/ticket there is a chance. 99.9% you will be fine. ;)

Hope that helps! :)

We just upgraded to AP's this past weekend. Went through the gates with our 7 day PH, went directly to Guest Relations and upgraded and went about the rest of our trip with our existing FP+ with no issues. Honestly, I didn't even think about it having any effect on our existing FP+'s, so I am glad that there was no issue!

Upgrade anytime you want before the "end" of the last day on your ticket. Using the ticket first is not relevant, just don't wait until after it's "all used up." The AP expiration date should be 1 year from the first use of the ticket (or from the upgrade date if you upgrade before using the ticket) if the CM does it right. Upgrading shouldn't hurt your FastPass reservations.

As far as cost is concerned, upgrade whenever you like, now or after you start your trip; the cash amount you laid out for your tix is what's applied to the upgrade, discounted or not. If you upgrade now, you'll still have to visit a counter to activate the AP when you arrive, so you might as well just wait until your trip and do it then.

we just bought discounted tix through parksavers 7day hoppers and will do this upgrade to ap's in april! some say go into park first and some say it doesnt matter?

right before you get your AP take a picture of your FP for whom ever is getting an APs then after you get the AP ask the CM ( I would do this at GR at one of the parks) if your FP are still there if they are not ( an small chance ) then you can tell them I have pictures of the FP can you please add them back on for me. GR CM have a way to add things that are not there to the public

Sadly, I don't think that's true.

I've read countless posts of Disney not being able to restore"lost" FP+.

It doesn't matter. I am 100% certain of this fact and my job is working with WDW tickets.

Like I said above, you certainly CAN enter a park before upgrading, but it is in no way required. Getting the right price on your upgrade depends on a CM knowing what they're doing, and usage on the ticket doesn't change the procedure.

perfect to know this! once linked to our account on MDE it just becomes a disney ticket no matter where you purchased correct? therefore should reflect disney's ticket prices on that day? Plan is as of now to either enter MK or AK on the 18th of April, but we can do this at a GR outside the turnstiles if there is no line and get it done!

They have done it for me not for this exact reason but my FP have gotten mest up and they were all added even 7DMT when there was none available

Make sure to check the expiration date of your new annual pass before you leave Guest Relations. It should be one year from the date it was first used. When I did mine last year, they had it has one year from the date the ticket was purchased. They were able to fix it and reissue the ticket.

MouseyMin that is my fear!!!! it better be dated exactly one year to the day! besides an accurate upgrade price I need the dates to be right!

Yep, AP upgrades need to be done on a specific "level" of our ticketing software that allows the CM to set the expiration date manually. What I always do is read the ticket usage and write down the first use date on scrap paper so that I don't forget what to put.

Well, almost always, because I messed somebody's up last week. They got an extra 2 weeks on their pass as a result, though, lol. :)

oooh heck yeah nice work ravenclawtrekkie!! I am heading to your ticket window! yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
